I have realflight (the first one) with Delux upgrade + all the add-ons and controler. Is there an upgrade that can upgrade this to G2 or do I have to start from scratch again?

Yes, I purchased a G2 upgrade from Tower Hobbies that uprgraded my original RealFlight. I also, later bought the USB controler upgrade. Works great!

Does the USB upgrade make much of a difference ????

I really like the usb interlink controller. Before, I was using the old original Dave Brown controller, but it didn't really simulate a modern radio. I made one of those parallel port converters that allowed you to use your own radio, but the radio caused interference on the speakers and the batteries ran down quickly.

Jonny what radio? I use the Eclipse and take out the tx crystal (whole module) and it is so much easier on the battery.
