Default G2 Video Question

I have a Geforce4 Ti4600 video card with a AMD Barton 2800 and a Seagate Serial ATA Hard Drive. Now I would think I should be able to run G2 full bore with not a lick of problems but every once in a while my video will get jerkey for about 1 or 2 seconds. This just erks the heck out of me. I'm also running it on a Samsung Syncmaster 191T Flat Panel Monitor. Any tips here?

Thanks,

Mike

Default G2 Video Question

When was the last time your hard-drive was defragged?

Did you defrag your hard-drive before installing?

If not, do it and then reboot your PC

Also, make sure your video and sound card drivers are up to date and you are not running any real-time virus scanning software during play.

Default G2 Video Question

sounds to me like something is running in the background and on occasion it sucks up all the cpu usage. Turn EVERYTHING off (CTRL ALT DELETE) except what is needed (system files)
That should help tremendously

Default memory

Could it be that you need more RAM? How much do you have?

Default noticed on mine too

I have 256 MB of RAM and I notice it everytime I fly by the people (in fun fly field) This is very graphics intense ... I wonder if we don't have enough memory on our video cards ??? I have WinXP, Pentium 4 at 2.0 GHz, with 256 MB of RAM.

I would hope 128mb video ram is enough.

Default try this

I have not tried this but I bet if you edit the flying field and get rid of the people you will not see this issue. Try it and let me know ... right now my TX USB controller went bad and GP is replacing it.

Default Same problem..

I have the same card & mem .After reading posts as far back as 2001, I went back and deleted fog. That was the biggest helper. The only time I get that 'stumble' now is when I have too much on the field and have all controles set up to use. I then delete the things that take up room but you don't really need! Besides, who needs all those people around to watch the ground jump up and get your plane!
GOOD LUCK,
PHIL I.

I used to have the same problem, but I quickly found the cure....turn off that annoying damn music! It gets jerky right when it is changing to a new tune....

but you can also play your favorite mp3's while flying - just copy them into the C:\Program Files\RealFlight\Songs directory.

Then, while RF is running, go to Option/music-sound and click 'add my songs'
Once you add them, only highlight the ones you want to use in your playlist -
