I have an older but very good Futaba PCM 1024A transmitter that I would like to use with FMS running under Win XP.
I made up the parallel cable and have since found out it won't work under XP.
What are my options on getting this to work?
Does anyone know of any traps for young players to look out for?
Thanks, Katipo

Hi matt
Yes I saw that. The PCM 1024 is switchable like most PCM radios between PCM & PPM, so thats not a problem. Its just what interface do I use/build if the Parallel port one does not work with Windows XP?

you will probably want to just buy one. to make a PIC chip interface for XP/2000 you need to have/buy a programmer which is more than most people *including me* sell them for to start with.
i sell the XP/2000 stuff for 25.00 shipped in the US.

Hi Katipo,
I use my Futaba PCM1024 (in PPM mode & without the module) with FMS (PIC and USB interface).
Take a look at
http://www.customelectronics.co.uk/fmspic.htm
There you can see how to buy or build one interface.
