Default FMS and NVIDIA Drivers??

I've been using FMS for a while and have enjoyed it (especially the price). It has worked fine with my older Nvidia video card and my older 4345 drivers. When I updated the driver to the current 44.03 the game slows down to a crawl with extremely slow frames per second.....Is the newest Nvidia driver incompatible with FMS??? When I went back to the older drivers for Nvidia, it worked fine again....let me know your results......Thanks.

Default FMS and NVIDIA Drivers??

Try and do a roll back to the previous driver to determine if the driver is affecting Realflight. I've had issues with NVIDIA driver upgrades in the past with some machines running XP. In the end we rolled back XP and went back to running Windows 2000. I think the issue was more how the operating system handled the driver than the actual software we were using handling it. I have also quit automatically updating the drivers because NVIDIA released a new one. What did you get by upgrading? Was it to solve a problem or did you upgrade for the sake of upgrading? Sometimes it is neccessary to upgrade. If it isn't broke don't fix it.

Bulls,
Thanks for the reply, I updated just for the sake of updating, I wasn't having any problems but I wanted to keep current with all my drivers so I'd be up to speed with everything. By the way I'm using FMS not realflight, and I'm running Windows 98 second edition with all updates. I always try to keep up with proper PC maintenance, and de-frag and check for errors on a regular basis. After I installed the newest NVIDIA drivers, everything ran great on my system until I loaded up FMS, then it crawled at non-playable frame rates. I asked a co-worker of mine about it, and he recommended going back to the old driver. As soon as I did, it worked perfect again. I'm guessing that the newest drivers for NVIDIA are incompatible with FMS.....

Default Same Problem

I downloaded FMS and it seemed to run OK. Framerate was fine then it would freeze for 3-4 seconds and run about 20-30 more seconds.
I updated my Nvidia driver (Asus v7700 deluxe card) with the latest version, and FMS was so slow it was unuseable. If you find a fix please post it!

Newberry,......No I haven't found an answer. I was thinking of contacting Nvidia, but I'll probably never get a response from them, they get a ton of questions daily.

Default FMS and NVIDIA Drivers??

Hi All

I downloaded the 44.03 Driver and had "No-End" of problems with FMS and more. Went back to 30.82 and all works perfectly again!!!! My advise; Get rid of 44.03...
