Default Buying Real Flight Second Hand???

G'Day

Just wondering if there are any issues in general with buying a second hand copy of Real Flight G4.5? Are there any issues with licensing/registering or upgrading etc. Or is that not an problem? I don't want to buy it and then find out, I need the original reciept or something to get it working.

Cheers for your help.

The seller must un-register, IF he has registered it.

Then YOU register it.

Also, you MUST have all the associated hardware. It won't run without the Interlink controller. That's the transmitter-looking device that plugs into your computer. You can plug your regular RC transmitter into the controller and use that, instead, but you must have the controller.

Cheers for your replies.  I ended up buying the sim last Saturday.  I have installed it, registered it and added all the free updates.  And I am loving it.  I don't get to spend a lot of time on it (about 10mins at a time maybe a couple of times a day)  but I have tried out quite a few different planes starting with the PT-40 and can handle most of them pretty well now including landing them safely and softly.  I also downloaded the LT-40 which is the plane I am going to build and planning to train on and I have pretty much mastered that.

The next thing I should probably do though, is add a bit of wind.  What is the normal sought of wind that most people would class as "acceptable" to fly in?  Keeping in mind that I am a begginer with no experience.

Look at your local weather reports for inspiration.

We had 4-6 mph today and the same is predicted tomorrow, so......... if I wanted to have realistic simulation of what happens around here, I set the sim for 6mph for me.

Yup, because the SIM tends to be more forgiving than the real world, you might also want to dial up the wind speed by about 50% compared to what you may see at the field.

Try a 20-30% variablity with 20-30% gusting, then crank the wind to 10 MPH or so.

This will "feel" more like what you'll see at the airfield. Later crank the wind up higher ( 18mph )to become proficient in higher winds...

You'll never balk at 16 mph winds at your field.

Default RE: Buying Real Flight Second Hand???

Hi guys,
Just snooping around and decided to ask you a question. I just bought the version 5.5 of realflight. Received it today. Do any of you know if I can install it on more that one computer? I have a laptop that I use when I watch the idiot box. I have another desktop in my home office. They both are powerful enough to easily run the program. I would prefer to install software on both machines and just move the controller back and forth. Is that possible?

Jim
