Smoke with Real Flight G2
 

I'm having trouble getting smoke to work on some of the models, i.e. the F-16. Anybody got a step by step foolproof way to set up smoke on any airplane? I'd like it to work via the 3-position switch.

I have not been able to get smoke with any "jet" engined model, even when using a ducted fan set up. Has anyone else??

I am pretty sure that Real Flight uses only Switch 2 for smoke - I am not sure if you can set that up differently, but I'm pretty sure that you can not...

Also, I don't believe that all planes offer smoke capabilities. When selecting an aircraft, if you read the description, it will usually mention something about using smoke on switch 2. I don't use it that often, so I only remember seeing it on a some of the aircraft.

Generally speaking, I had trouble getting smoke to work at all, on any plane. Eventually, I searched the knowledge base and found a suggestion to delete the RealFlight.ini file. Once I did that, and started it up again, it worked fine.

If smoke is not an option on the original plane, you can make a copy. Edit the copy and go into misc tab, click the box that say radio controls smoke, go back to the servos tab and pick a switch to use it on. It will work with combustable engines and ducted fan but not turbne. Here is a Large b-17 blowin smoke and an a-10 with a DF smokin up the place. Hope that helps,

LOL, You can also set up a cap with retracts. Pretty funny

or without editing the model you can just hit the Tab key on the keyboard and you will get smoke. sorry it will not work with turbines, but will work with a ducted fan.

I have Blue smoke set up with the Left aileron. It goes with the Orange exhaust...Go Gators! (I'm a Gator Pop!!) Andy
