AFP blender video
Someone was asking about whether AFP could do blenders. Easily with any of the 3D planes. This one is with the Chip Hyde Ulty.
This is a 30 FPS output video, actual FPS on sim was 175 FPS. [link=http://www.flybuder.com/aeroflyvids/blender.wmv]Click here to view video 11MB WMV[/link] |
RE: AFP blender video
Thanks! Ask and ye shall recieve :)
I'm at my brother's house right now with slow dialup connection, so I'll wait to watch it until later. You said you can easily do a blender with any of the 3D planes? If so, I must be doing something wrong during executing the blender, this is how I am trying... After gaining sufficient altitude... Chop throttle, point nose straight down Give full left aileron After about three rotations, add full right rudder and full down elevator The plane should immediately enter an inverted flatspin, add some throttle to tighten it up. This procedure was taken from... http://horizon.hobbyshopnow.com/Prod...2-ART.asp?pg=6 and worked perfect for my Kyosho Cap in "real life" How do you do it? |
RE: AFP blender video
You're on the right track. Just do not forget to let go of the ailerons on some birds. Some only require a little bit of aileron to flatten it out. You gotta feel it out.

RE: AFP blender video
You cannot use full deflection on all the planes.
The best thing to do is to learn a inverted flat spin on the plane you want to do a blender. Not on all planes do you put full deflection to sustain an inverted flat spin. On some planes it's only half of the servo travel or the rudder, ailerons and elevator. Or a mix of the 3. But you are basically right though. You enter a blender nose down rolling in either direction with a none or just a little throttle. Then you enter an inverted flat spin in the same direction of the roll. First you master the inverted flat spin on a particular plane, then you add the pitch down roll. |
RE: AFP blender video
Oh yeah! Nice description Dion. Nice flying as well, are we going to have a contest to see who can end it the lowest? :D

RE: AFP blender video
Thanks for the speedy responses guys :) I can't wait to get home and put some hours on AFP :) I was up till about 3:00 last night doing so:D

RE: AFP blender video
HAHA! Spacey I was drinking a cup of coffee while I was doing that. You wanna go low? Bring it on!

i'd like to see this!!! :D

ORIGINAL: STLPilot HAHA! Spacey I was drinking a cup of coffee while I was doing that. You wanna go low? Bring it on! I think I got myself into trouble here. :) |
RE: AFP blender video
I would say that was pretty low STLPilot when you just recovered just above the ground and then the gear hit the deck.....I'd have to say that that is pretty close......

RE: AFP blender video
Hey Spacey, where's your video?? :D
|
RE: AFP blender video
Dude if I get over this hang over I gots today I'll make something tonight and send it to ya tomoz early early. :)

RE: AFP blender video
Oh Dion! I just thought of something else. Have you ever tried a hover landing on one of the tables under the shelter thingy on the desert scenery? I did a couple of nights back but with not much success. Maybe that can be our next challenge. lol
