AFPD Scenery Installer is here
 

I just completed the 1st round of the AFPD scenery installer. This little utility will take any AFP or AFPD scenery and install it for use in AFPD. Since this is the 1st release, I haven't provided too many handholding instructions but the utility itself is pretty self explanatory (you only click on 2 buttons). Here's a copy of the readme:

Welcome to the Aerofly Professional Deluxe Scenery Installer!
This utility will automatically install any AFPD scenery and will also convert and install any old AFP scenery collections.
Simply click the Browse button above, point to the location of the unpacked scenery collection you downloaded and then hit the convert button.
Please note that this program is currently in testing. You are bound to run into some type of problems. Please report them to [email protected]
When you report a problem, please provide a link to the scenery collection you are trying to install so I can troubleshoot easily.I hope you enjoy this little utility. Reflex XTR conversion is next in the pipeline.

IMPORTANT: The utility itself is built using the .NET Framework. You will have to download that if you don't have it. How do you know if you have it or not? Well, if you run the utility and you see an error immediately, then you probably don't have it. Well, the Reflex converter is also progressing pretty smoothly. I have it working right now as a matter of fact. The only thing I need to fix are some threading issues (e.g. cpano starts the conversion process before the code that resizes the pano image is finished). Once I get that taken care of, it should be ready to go.

It'll still be the same utility. The code itself is smart enough to realize if you're trying to install an AFP scene, AFPD scene or a Reflex XTR scene. In other words, it'll adapt to whatever you throw at it.

If all goes well, the Reflex converter will be finished tomorrow.

I tried three scenerys last night which couldnt be converted thay are from rc-sim.de in the AFP scenery section.the convertion tool was throwing up an error message ie "An unhandled exeception has occured"

these 3 scenerys are as follows:-

FP-Wolfsberg

delfgauwlcht&gras

UP DATE zur EDWV Svenerie


2 screen shots of apple tree bay, the 2nd shot is with LIGHT_AMBIANT set at 0 0.55 0.55 0.55
and the 1st shot set at 0 0.85 0.85 0.85 this is my adustment to the lighting. your tool exept for the 3 scens named above works great very pleased with it. Looking forwards to the reflex tool, many thanks again.

Those two senery's are the ones I have in my Reflex, do the sernery's from Reflex work with AFP?

Yes that 1 scenery does work in AFP you can down load it from r-c sim.de but nearly all the scenerys in reflex wont work in AFP or AFPD.Once codey has constructed his reflex converter we may stand a chance of converting reflex scens to AFP and AFPD
Ive just this last wk converted most of AFP SCENS to AFPD:D:D:D

Hello,
Any chance of codepunk making a utility that allows us to edit scenery. I asked a couple times on how to remove the two piles of dirt from the scenery "Farmland" in "AFPD" with only one useful answer. That answer was a website that explained how to edit sceneries for "AFP". Try as i may i couldn't remove the two piles. When i edited the file "farmlando.tgo" the scenery wouldn't load. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Good news. The Reflex conversion is code complete. Had my first successful conversion. Going to download and test a few more and see how they work.

There is 1 small problem and that's with the automatic thumbnail creation. For some reason, AFPD doesn't like the 256x256 and 64x64 thumbnails the utility creates. I will probably release the utility even with that small little bug (and fix it later).

If you're talking about the crash you saw I downloaded the 1st one in that list and tried it out. I didn't see the crash which means I might have fixed it. When I release the new version, you can try again and let me know what you see (unless you're too busy converting reflex scenes hehe).

Theres a new updated version of REFLEX AND AFP TO AFPD scenery conversion tool which does all the work for you. Go back
to where you put these posts on and its about 3 lines down from AFPD INSTALER IS HERE. The conversion tool is ready to down load and use.:D:D:D

This is what i did for those 2 scenerys to work change the geo file exactly and I mean exactly as below.
you dont have to change anything else m8.

And what you should have in the scenery directory is your named scenery folder ie delfgauwluchl&gras
you must take out of this folder and leave in the scenery directory 64 x 64 bmp the 256 x 256 bmp and the geo files. this worked for me see screen shot

ty vm my friend :) i wil try it ....btw the reflex scenery works and looks coolll .....just some AFP scenery and there are not always great.......its like photo streching and not the same contrast beetween.[&o]

i hope they will do more AFPD scenery : ipaks or ikarus think that whe are happy for AFP scene....:eek:

they will have to do some homeworks .

btw planes who dropping bombs( 4 or F4 on the keyboard) at the same time the bomb are detach of the plane the plane come back at the start....weird!!!!!!!![:-]

and how do the corsair (on the keybord) deploy their wings i try with the contol panel of the game ...nothing....

if you go to the start page of forum click on page 2 at the bottom stilpilots got a post on how to assign your num keys on key board to folding wings, retracts, sliding canopy ect also a screen shot aswell. Dont forget stilpilots post it may well move on to page 3 as new posts come in.
