card slot
Yeah, what CHassen said. Unless you buy an e-machine. Some of those don't have the AGP port.

video card for Real-Flight???
Thanks,
So the trick would be to make sure there is an open AGP slot? How is the on board video disabled? Hardware or software? Is this a relatively foolproof proceedure? Balin |
video card for Real-Flight???
If I were buying a new card, I would stay away from the GeForce 4 MX series. They're basically overclocked GeForce 2's. For pennies more, you can get a GF 4 Ti 4200, which is a much better card. Or for a real bargain, hunt down a GF3 Ti200.

The onboard video would be disabled thru your BIOS. Depending on how it is set up you hit something like the delete key, or maybe one of the function keys. Then again depending on the BIOS it is usually called something like onboard devices. All you do is set it to disabled.
If you are real lucky it might have a auto detect set up, thus disabling the onboard if an add in card is present. |
