Default Mixing Fuels Question

Has anyone mixed Cool Power 15% with Omega 15%? I would like to lower the castor content for my 4 strokes but don't want to run straight synthetic. Any insight would be appreciated.

Actually, you can use either straight Cool Power or straight Omega fuel in your four-stroke engines with no problems at all. You don't need to mix them, and Omega doesn't have so much castor that you'll have a problem with your four-stroke engines.

We've used hundreds of gallons of Cool Power and Omega fuels over the years and cannot attribute any problem to either fuel.

Thank You for your help I kept getting different answer from so many people my head was about to explode. I always used omega in my 2 strokes but I recently switched everything to 4 strokes. I heard that the castor gums up the valves and the synthetic blends aren't good for the ABC cylinders my Saitos have. I will use what I have now and stick with it.

I agree, Bax. I have been using Omega 10 or 15% in my YS 1.20's and O.S. four strokes for five years with absolutely no problems. I use the small castor content as a leanness indicator-if the oil residue on the airplane has more than a slight tan color to it, you are too lean and that scorches the castor, changing the color. doesn't the methanol in the fuel work as a solvent to keep the valves clean? the stuff you put in your car to "clean the valves" is mostly alcohol mixed with kerosene or some other solvent. gee maybe we can get some "Techron" from chevron fuels to put in you 4 stroke motors, thats what they put in it to keep the valves clean
