Default Fuel for atlantic crossing

The model that recently crossed the atlantic used an O.S.61 four stroke and the fuel was coleman lantern fuel with Indopol L-50 lubricant. I've not been able to find any other information. It must have been glow powered. Without alcohol, what keeps the plug glowing? Does anyone have any other details of the engine and it's operation?

It wasn't glow powered. The engine was converted to use a spark plug ignition system. There is a website with a little more information, but I don't have the address. A Google search on TAM 5 will probably find it though.
