Just bought some methanol from the local speed shop at $3.00/gal.
They want $33.50/gal for Nitro. [X(] (My Moki doesn't need it, so I passed)
Are these prices in line with what you guys are paying?
I'm in the Dallas area.

The methanol is about a quarter higher than I bought a month ago. The nitro is $10 less. At 5% or even less to smooth out the idle it would last a long time.

In the Wichita, Ks, area:
Alcohol $3/gal
Nitro $42/gal
Castor $24/gal
Blue food coloring $0.89/bottle
It seems awful expensive, but, I mix my own anyway. That way I know exactly how much oil is in my fuel, and the quality of the ingredients.

Hey guys, I have two moki 135's. they run great . I have been mixing my own fuel -Methanol and 16 % high grade synthetic castor. What is the best fuel mix you would recommend and should I mix in about 5% nitro.
I seem to have a lot of oil on the plane after flight. The moki's are sort of new to me so I am still learning their quirks. Thanks

cowboy10,
Moki engines are designed to run on FAI fuel:
20% castor 80% methanol (0% nitro!)
They tend to overheat and loose some power when running on nitro fuels.
Do not ever run them on synthetic oil only. You shorten their lives.
If you want to use synthetic fuel make sure at least half of the oil content is castor.
