Whats the most nitro blend you ever seen used in a model engine and what type of engine was it used in? Also, what were the results?

also, i wanted to ask where can one buy nitro? i have looked everywhere around here i could think of and noone sell it. where should i look to buy nitro for mixing in fuel? any help is appreciated.

The most I've used is 10%.

Ritch's Brew sells nitromethane as well as premixed fuel. I've seen their bottles at Mike's Hobby Shop in Carrollton TX. http://www.ritchsbrew.com The hazmat shipping fee might make it unreasonable to order from them. Ritch's brew sells fuel with 65% nitro so there must be people using at least that much.

Back in the dinosaur days in control line racing, we ran 40% in Goodyears and rats. Around 1980 we changed rules and limited fuel to 10% in all but 1/2A racing. Cheaper fuel, easier on plugs and engines, and in a couple of years we were running just as fast on the 10%. I think up to 60% has been used in CL speed.

60% is common in R/C Boat racing.

When I was racing boats I ran 45% in a picco 90....Till another person brought out a PopEye boat with a pair of twins in it...Sprt got out of hand--
I found a lot of higer Nitro at Hobbytown,and Lake Erie hobby.I think both are still in operation......
