ok guys i mix my fuel at home and use, castor, synthetic oil and rest methanol and 5% nitro,
and my engines are smoking way tooo much, its reall bad, its a white smoke, that is constantly coming outta my exhaust,
i can see the smoke even 10, 15 feet high sometimes in the evenings, how can i reduce the smoke coming out[:@][:@]?????????????????
in nitro engines does the oil burn or does it just lubricate and go out, whats causing all the smoke is it the methanol or oil
heres my normal mix
for a litre
16%oil 160ml
84% methanol 840ml
i just add some nitro into it about 100ml
theese are the oils i use, castor 927 by maxima usa(its a racing oil with degummed castor and synthetic oil http://www.maximausa.com/products/2stroke/castor927.asp and sometimes i use this when the castor 927 is not avaliable http://www.zipkart.com/acatalog/Shell_Racing_Oils.html
both the oils are very similar and are the same exact colour and with both the engine smokes alot
what do you guys think?? can i add something to it to reduce the smoke
its all the same in all of my engines!!!i got no idea what to do about it?????

the smoke is from the castor oil, castor oil doesnt really burn that well, it just smokes when burned, synthetic oils burn up in the combustion process, are you using a high amount of castor oil in your blend? and smoke isnt bad, it means your engine is getting more than enough lubrication

I take it you're running this fuel in a car so it doesn't have that big wirly thing up front to blow the smoke away
Once when I was running an engine on the test stand with 25% all castor I plugged a length of old radiator hose over the end of the muffler to direct the exhaust out of the slipstream from the prop. It was amazing just how much smoke there is when it goes up and hangs there. But don't worry, smoke is a good thing because it shows the oil is passing through the engine and lubricating it instead of getting burned and making the engine run hotter.
