Gentlemen,

Can ANYONE give up any info on fuel? I see alot of sales manuevering and the type of evasive dancing that would make a presidential candidate proud.

Otto put in his two cents and got thrashed for it. The 'thrashers' did nothing to back-up their statements. Personally, I'll take experience over sales hype anyday.

Post it all for the world to see. If it's alot of info and data, consider it well worth it. You just might make a few sales with some rays of sunshine instead of covering it in *!&?.

This is supposed to be a forum to get info. Why is it so hard in this case?

Hello
Please refer to the fuel forums for this information. Or contact the individual fuel manufacturers for their RCV fuel recommendations. The fuel formula for RCV engines is 15% oil+/-2% Castor Synthetic blend and 10-15% Nitro.

Thank You

Lokeetl, please be more specific.

What exactly are you looking for? Mixing ratios? Fuel component names? Are you trying to mix your own stuff?

There are many, many threads on making fuel, and I will probably never buy a commercial mystery mix again. Glow fuel is methanol and oil----that's it! Some nitro in the mix, helps idle, and needle sensitivity(up to 5%). A little more nitro, adds power, and decreases fuel economy. Acetone can be added to reduce preignition, and ease starting in the cold.

I usually run 3-5% nitro, 18-22% oil, 3% acetone, and the rest Methanol. I too would like to know what these mysterious ingredients are in the commercial fuels.

lokeetl,

What information are you looking for. As I read the posts I see none of what you are speaking of. There is a trmendous amount of information on this forum alone about oils, additives, blending, storage, what oil ratios for which engines ect.. So I guess I am not sure what more you want. As for the RCV the manufacturers specifically makes Nitro and oil content recommendations for that engine series. If you choose not to run what they recommend then how is that trashing someone? If you want a direct answer to a question you must first ask a question. What is it you are looking for? You make statements about dancing around a subject but you never even state the subject, you make ask a nonspecific and general question and then try and say that someone is not answering that question. If you ask "what gives with air" how is someone supposed to answer? Do you want to know oil contents, oil viscosities, pour points, thermal shock characteristics, lubricity properties, multiviscosity properties, film strength, load factor, shear strength, nitro purities, methanol prurities, additives, rust inhibitors, ignitors, antifoaming agents, ect......... if so ALL this information is on our web site, all you have to do is go read it. Now, I have read posts like this and I think I already can hear your response "well that information is hype and you must be biased", no, this is why we give numbers from our raw material manufacturers and links to them "in writing so you can have the assurance they are acurate and true. We are the only fuel manufacturer to do so.
