Where to buy Sig Fuel in Tx?
 

Any hobby shops within 100 miles of Dallas that sells Sig Glow fuel?

Good luck on that. I've been flying Sig fuel for many years. I have generally been able to make a trip back to the St. Louis area about once a year and pick up a couple of cases at the hobby shop-s there. I hope you can find some place, as I only have a few gallons on hand.

It'd be cheaper to order it direct from SIG if you get more than a couple gallons at a time. They were gonna charge me $10 standard UPS ground shipping and $25/4-gal case for hazmat on top of the $20-25/gal fuel price.

Perhaps if I order enough fuel from Sig they will ship via truck to save the Hazmat fee. Anyone i the central Texas area interested in participating in a "group buy" of Sig fuel?

Talked to Sig today. it's about $200.00 to ship 10 cases of their fuel to Tyler, Tx. I would buy 3 cases myself.

Maybe we can get a hobby dealer in Dallas, Austin, or San Antonio to order 10 cases or so for us.

I use Powermaster; made in San Antonio. Why not give it a try?

Last time I checked Powermaster did not make a 20% all castor blend which is what my Enya engines like. I ended up buying some methanol and castor oil, now I find something close and adjust as necessary.

That's a lot of nitro. Are you racing? Looks like you're right. Their YS 20/20 is a blend of castor & synthetic, I think.

I used to run !5% nitro Red Max with 18% all castor in my Foxes. That was when I lived in El Paso which is high desert country - 4,000 feet.

Sorry! Misunderstanding. I use 5% nitro and 20% all castor fuel in my Enya. 20% nitro would make them sing!

An Enya would sing for a little while on 20% nitro, but then a belch and a fart and there goes the glow plug. LoL. Kidding aside, when someone says "all castor fuel" that tells me zero synthetic oil. I rarely use synthetic oil now myself. PAG oils do not provide the protection that castor oil does, though it is great at cleaning varnish and carbon up. Most of not all fuel companies' shelf stock fuel is a castor/synth blend (80/20 or 70/30 synth/castor respectively). Some outfits like SIG or S&W will make a castor based fuel for you upon request.

I make all my own fuel for all of my engines. I use 20% castor in my ringed engines and tapered bore engines, and my lapped and bushed engines get 25% oil. 5-10% nitro. They seem to like it.
