Trying to locate a source of these systems for my planes, thought I'd give the car people a try. Can anyone point me in a direction to locate some?

Steering systems on RC cars don't tend to be rack & pinion-type.  You may have more luck with robotics stores:

I am wanting to duplicate the Cessna retractable landing gear for single engine aircraft, plus thinking about a way to open a cargo door on an rc plane. Thanks for your help.
