Pictures of my FG Marder with touring car wheels
Well i found a set of 1/5 scale FG touring car wheels and tires from a private seller, and got the touring car uprights and tierods from molzermowery and put it all together today. Unfortunately i'm still waiting for a part not related to this conversion so i couldn't try it out yet.
Here are the pictures. Some are before pictures and some are after pictures to give you and idea of the difference between the two.
Notice the drop between the bottom two picutures. That is a combination of the tires and removal of the preload adjusting clips.

Who says you are meant to use the standard tires?
I haven't tried it out yet because i'm STILL waiting for parts to arrive...ARGH.
BUT i've known a guy who had the FG truck tires on his Marder and he said he couldnt believe how well the marder handled with them on.

RE: Pictures of my FG Marder with touring car wheels
i run my marder on the truck tyres the problem i had is it take a while for the slicks to warm up
untill they get sticky there usless but when warmed up gees does it go you really notice the speed on the tarmac
drevil
i think you will have to change the gearing now you are running smaller wheels
mind the top end you don't want to over rev and go bang
mind you it will accelerate like the brown stuff off a polished shovel
mine still understeers quite bad on tarmac but it certainly goes and saves those knobblys for the soft stuff

I thought you could buy FG slicks that fit plug and play on a Marder, MT etc... W/out having to replace the arms etc... -

if you want a off/on road car
then get a off road marder/beetle etc
then get the marder white or silver truck wheels with the 63mm fronts and 80mm (width) rears and they will just swap straight over no gear changes no arm changes
