Default Monster Truck Wheels on Existing Vehicles.

Hey Guys !

If you are interested I've put a set of the new Monster Truck Wheels and Tyres on my Leopard Race and its awesome. A completely different vehicle and simply GREAT GREAT fun.

The only thing is that due to their weight and size you have to revert back to at least a 46 Cog or ideally a 48. I have the 48 and the top end does not appear any less than a 46.[img][/img]

Nope....Thats it...Just use the 46 or 48 cog. Anything less and your vehicle will bog down VERY quickly and will eventually damage your engine.

Mine was "happy" with the 46 but a lot happier with the 48.

The other thing with these tyres is that the vehicle then becomes a true on AND off road vehicle. I've been running on tarmac for 2 weeks now and the tyres are still like new.

Also I've never really thought that the FG's are really meant to jump to much, certainly not high. With the new wheels/tyres its an amazing "jumper" now. The tyres are SO big and don't need foam inserts. They act as a great surpressor also when jumping, hence saving your shocks from over working.

If there is a downside to the mod......Its the blinkin' weight...You don't want to be carrying the vehicle too far thats for sure...

The whole set cost me £140...not sure if thats good or bad...??

Well..in my case I got them from Galaxy Hobbies of Ipswich BUT any good FG stockist should get them for you...I know however that they came from King Cobra in Rossendale, one of the major UK importers for FG.

They will make a huge differance to your Beetle...Good Luck.

These guys seem to be one of the cheapest for complete kits I have found so far in the uk

http://www.gmmodels.co.uk/about-us.htm

Poped in there today and they should have the wheels in next week, along with beetle shells.

They recon the wheels and drive should cost about £100, might be a bit more

Yes...I know the guys down there well and have visited on several occasions BUT their site sais that the tyres and wheels are on back order..I couln't wait so I placed the order with Galaxy/King Cobra. Not sure how they could get them quicker than Gm, but they could.
