Another thread on MT shock oil---now I don't feel the need to change it
I'm only starting this thread because not many people have commented that the shocks significantly "brake in" after a while (that is, become softer/more compliant). I bought some lighter weight oil in anticipation of replacing the "glue", but now I find that the shocks have become more forgiving, after initially being very stiff. After performing some very low jumps (maybe 2 feet off the ground), I felt like the heavy MT could bottom out the suspension very nearly, especially if I didn't land on all four wheels simultaneously. Now I'm glad I kept the glue in (although in the future, I may replace with some similarly heavily weighted oil--any suggestions?)

Blurry pic with the digital camera, but you get an idea of the mild height.

PaulC,
Push down on the rear and see if it extends back into full position and how long it takes, if it does. Took mine out for a test spin on the parking lot today and when making left turns, the RR squats down and the LF wheel gets about 4-5 inches in the air and travels 5 foot or more before setting down again.
