I would not recommend that hitec for the steering. Manyyyy people on this site have had problems, including myself, with burning them up within 30 minutes of easy usage. Go with either the multiplex rhino or digital jumbo. Both multiplex servos are great with little or no problems. I run the digital jumbo with no problems to date.

Yes I have had 4 x Hitec 5745 steering servos crap themselves, a brand new one stopped dead after 5 mins!
When the hitec is working, its great....maybe I just got a bad batch.
I am also looking at Multiplex, this is the one I will change to:

Are you guys setting your EPA's when you run the 5745? Because the only time I ever had a problem with a hitec digi servo is when I ran my 5945 as my throttle/brake and fried it when the failsafe tripped and cause it to go 100% full brake. Otherwise, the Hitecs have a good track record in my books.

However, one thing about the Hitecs is if they choose to crap out, they crap out on you as soon as they are activated. Otherwise, in the case of the 5745, its usually (not always) caused by user error.

Well here goes....Yeeeee Haaaawww..ack... cough.... cough....ack, I am a Texan but I never could get the hang of that.

I ordered the MT-5 today, I got the truck, both servos, a receiver pack, alloy a-arms shipped for $1174. I got the receiver from another source as RCNuts doesn't carry JR radio systems. By the way, I was wondering how much paint it would take to back the entire body shell. Will one can of spray paint back the entire shell? My sister is going to airbrush the bod for my birthday but I need to know how much to buy. And thanks to Mike at RCNuts

Are you talking about the Mike with RCNUTS not being with RCNUTS anymore? Or someone else?

No, he means that another guy named Mike at FG Performance RC has sold his business to a guy named Troy in Minnesota. The other Mike at RCNUTS is still at RCNUTS.

The Hitec 5745 is a excellent servo, I have one in my MB, just make sure you set the EPA and you will not have a problem.
