Default 1/4 stadium truck update.

Here is a couple pics of the progress of my QRS stadium truck restoration. Custom aluminum QC rear using the original gears from the QRS plastic QC. Hydraulic brakes, modified 23cc boss motor New suspension setup, powdercoat and polish everything, oh yea and a set of Ricks RC offroad tires!

[X(][8D][X(] VERY SWEET RC there xknacx!!!

Wish they were still in production... I'd have one in a heart beat...
Hate that I'm about 5-10 years behind (in this hobby) of all the cool stuff that WAS made!
Can't believe stuff like that isn't made anymore []

Do you have a paint scheme yet?

Thanks! Yea the paint job is going to be a two tone with a flame breaker. Another words its going to have a red top half, grey lower half and an orange flame seperating the two. Should look sweet! Unfortunately I have to put it on the back burner for now. I am starting to make a 1/4 GTP car so I can race next month. They have started the class back up!

It looks pretty good, but I like it better without the body.

Hey XknacX Really nice project you have there You're forcing me to find time to finish my workshop. My FG is nice and a lot of fun and all but there is just something special about scratch building.

Are there any sites you could point me to for a set of sprint car frame plans? We used to get a decent crowd at the full scale races here in Newcastle and I would love to stir up some interest in 1/4 scale.

thanks

Great looking car you have there xknacx ! [sm=thumbup.gif] Would really want either a stadium car, or mostly that monster truck.

I am sad that i didn't know about these cars when they where in production I personally cant believe that they cant have these beauty's in production, because i would also get one in a heartbeat. But i don't think that they ever will get it up and running again.. making those wonderful cars, sure wish they would though

Thanks guys. I think it looks better with the body off too. I just got another one of these trucks a few weeks ago so the population is growing! You really do need a garage dedicated to this type of work. I just re-did our garage. I epoxied the floor, put in a 20" flat panel, built a GREAT workstand, and much more. I also have a cheap mini lathe and mini mill converted to cnc so I can make simple parts. On the plans to build a frame there really is none. I have a couple quickdraw sprint cars and can take some measurements for you though if you like?

It looks just perfect in size to work with your cars, not to big and not to little. You have a real nice working place there for your hobby. I am about to convert some space to a workroom like that, and then get some machines to be able to build stuff without having to drive for a almost a hour to get things done []

Please keep us updated on the progress, and if you ever come across video of driving those huge 1/4 monster trucks or stadium trucks, pleeeeeease do post them, as i don't think many in here have ever seen them on video or in real life. I think it would be extremely appreciated from everyone [sm=thumbup.gif]

Hmmmmm, yes.... next time I fire up the MT I will shoot some video. I ran it a couple months ago on the gas that was still in the tank from a year ago!!! You have to take it easy when you drive that thing, its a REAL blast and always attracts a crowd! Its pretty sweet out in a field when you can tear it up.... oh man I am getting that loving feeling again

Default RE: 1/4 stadium truck update.

I just recently picked up a QRS stadium truck with all original parts. Finished the engine rebuild a couple days ago and started up on the 5th pull. Going to clean it up and polish it here and there, as well as repaint the cage along with the body. All original parts, still no money invested in it yet to get it up and running. I did however add a Faast 2.4 Futaba radio, but I'm using the quarter scale servos that were on the truck. Pics soon to come, and I am interested in selling this monster. Please call/text me if interested, and I'm also looking for more detailed pictures of the throttle/brake set up as well as fuel tank positioning.
