Default What plugs are you guys running on your G26?

I will be going to the U.S next week so i will be stocking up on some parts and i figure i will need to stock up on plugs since it isn't very obtainable here in Toronto.

What plugs are you guys running and how do you like them?

I think i will stock up a few pieces of the stock plug and get a couple boxes of the NGK CR8HIX. By the way do i need to do any mods to run the NGK CR8HIX plugs?

Any good FG dealers near Queens, NY ?

I'm runnin with NGK iridium CR8HIX (when the temp is over 20°C) and NGK CR7HIX (when below (20°C), eventually to save these plugs I run NGK CMR6H or CMR7H.
A little mod to the carb settings is needed anyway when you change plug.
You'll hear the difference.

Stegy - based on your experience, which plugs are better? The Platinum line of NGKs or the standard line?

If the platinum line are better, what sort of percentage performance boost did you observe?

the iridium plugs are much better because they give you a better spark. the only thing you might want to buy extra when you buy the ngk iridium plugs is to buy a couple of threaded plug posts so you can use them in your Z260

Iridium plugs are the best.
I race in 2 classes with my FG's, and only NGK iridium plugs are good enough if oyu want results, offcourse and good driver.

eventually to save these plugs I run NGK CMR6H or CMR7H.

I think he was referring to the TERMINAL NUTS. Those are the plug boot adapters that fit on the top of plugs like the NGKs.

If you don't get terminal nuts the plug boot will not fit on top of the plug correctly. The NGK has a threaded stud top to the plug, where as the Champions have the rounded top.

Whoopsies - didn't realise the platinum's are so expensive, I just run them when I bash the Bigfoot

Tony from RCmodelsport.com sent one for me to use and I haven't gone back to the original plugs since to test the difference

Use the standard plug that came in it unless you are planning on racing and need that extra little bit of RPM you think you will feel or hear. I spent the extra bucks for the CR8HIX plugs (of which don't have the plug caps and you have to find if you don't have any) and can't tell that much of a difference, or enough to justify the price. Just my 2cents here on that. Also, they are a little longer then the CMR7H plug.

A little more then that, when you have to buy 4 at a time, of which you will do if you buy it at SparkPlugs site.

Here's how the NGK's come...without tips.

I tried to buy the tips seperatly but no one had them. I ended up going thru all the NGK plugs at Autozone untill I found a box of plugs that came with tips. The were cheap, $1 plugs so I kept the tips and thru the plugs away.

Go to a bike shop or small engine shop. They will either sell the terminal nuts to you or give you some.

Sparkplugs.com has them for .10 each. They are listed as terminal nuts.
