Default Jumping???

Ok,I'm new to this forum but I have been watching & reading this forum & maxxbasher petro for a couple of months now.I am very interested in buying a MT-5 but I have read several times on maxxbasher that these 1/5 scales cannot be jumped like the nitros,is this true???I havenot seen that as a problem on this forum.I have 3 revos & previously had 2 t-maxxes.

If you get one...treat it well. [8D] It's not a disposable nitro truck.

22+ pounds hits the ground alot harder than 4 pounds...you can do jumps I jump my xtm all the time just not huge jumps like with the nitro's...I wouldn't be doing 12' high jumps...somethings going to give....I'm sure you can jump them high as long as you land properly....if you don't it's a disaster....also consider the $1000+ paid for it where a nitro might be half that....it's basically one of them it's your cash do as ya please things...I'd personally never beat my gaser up like I beat my revo and savage...maybe thats why most people that own gasers aren't teens.

YOu will be fine jumping.

Here is a couple short clips of the FG MT that my brother and I own. The first 2 video is my truck using my brothers body and the last video is my brothers truck and he had the early batch of FG MT that came with thicker shock oil so it doesn't handle as good as mine. He just changed his oil last night so i will make another video when i get my new video camera. If you do decide to get a new MT then you won't need to worry about the suspension like my brother did.

I have a 230 x 150 ft track on my property and my tripple jump launches my MB 5-7ft up and 30 to 40 ft long and I don't have alot of breakage. All cars break but I don't have any more problems from jumping than any nitro I've owned.

I agree .. 5-7 feet is fine i have done higher but your going to need thrust so you don't drop like a meteor. Nitros are more fun if you wanna fly your truck. If they ever come out with a light MT or buggy with parts readily available in gas then i will be all over it.

Just keep off the throttle and also try not to let your wheels spin too fast upon landing so you don't break your plastic spur carrier or your diff. I wish FG came out with a SLipper clutch so we don't run into the risk of breaking diffs or carriers.

Other then that FG MT is alot easier on your eyes when your driving.

As for the comments on the teens not owning these trucks well i think it has somthing to do with money not the maturity. I personally would rather see more teens and early 20s get into these trucks and if they do then the demand will be more and hopfully reduce the cost on parts. I also like to see an out of control teen go beyond the limits on these large scale as they do on nitros...

Seems like the guys in my area are minimum 27 years old. I hope a youngin in my area get a hold of one of these bad boys and send them flying for my RC truck videos

I think the FG's and other large scales are plenty capable of substantial jumps, but like some of the others here have said, there is so much money invested into these (mine is upwards of $3000), I am way to chicken to take a chance on trying a really high jump. I cringe whenever I see my MB go end over end as is off a really small jump. I'd probably pass out if I tried a 10 foot jump or better at high speed...

That is why we need some wild teens with one of these large scale toys HEHE..... I would like to see them in action like those crazy nitro videos. Large scale would be soo much easier to see in the air

I had mine in the air 9 feet and it was once and after it landed on all 4 i said to myself never again. The rims sounded like they were going to break and i did have a screw on my lower turn buckle come off 1 minute after that jump.

BUt i again i still wanna see some teenager in my area fly one of these things HEHE....

I have a friend with the marder beetle. We have the same discusion all of the time. I tell him that the nitros can handle more. He beats the living hell out of his marder and has only broken the rear lowers. I should try to get some video of it. I would never try have of the crap he does with my FG.

the last time i drove my mb it was over a 12 foot mound of gravel. i stress the last time, it hasn't ran right since that day. believe i've got it narrowed down to the crankcase. got a new cylinder on it and i cleaned the carb.

i believe 12 feet is to much.

I've jumped mine quite high and although it handles jumps well I wouldn't recommend jumping it like nitro trucks. Parts are more expensive and because of the weight the damage is usually more severe! It's excellent for smaller jumps and great for almost any terrain since it has a high ride height and tons of torque! Good luck and you definitely won't regret buying one [8D]

Bayview / Finch 1 light north of finch behind the arena.

We can fix anything but i wouldn't buy a used car just to fix or replace parts that could cost more in the end or near the cost of a new truck

hey everybody, rc party/BBQ at jeepfreaks house

I think that would be cool. We could show all my non gasser friends what real rc is about. I just need to get a well driven and an irrigation pump to keep the dust down. I will get pics. of the track soon.

I'm not to far GR. About 40 miles north west. If you are going to be close again, have your car with you and have the time, pm me and we will rip it up.
