BEL-RAY H1R SYNTHETIC 2-STROKE RACING OIL
Hey I'm new to large scale and need opinions on this oil. I just received my monster beetle so I went to the local motorcycle shop and asked for the best 2 stroke oil and this is what they gave me. http://www.belray.com/consumer/productpages/h1r.html Is this ok to run in my new beetle. Thanks

cormierone,
May I bother you to ask what ratio you are running with this oil. I mixed 25:1 but it smokes quite abit.
Thanks,

I run my mix at 40:1 with belray h1r....25:1 is alright but you can lean it up some...35:1 I think is what most goto after break in.

RE: BEL-RAY H1R SYNTHETIC 2-STROKE RACING OIL
SSPower,
I think a gallon is the exception not the rule. I ran 3 tanks in each of my cars and I have 7 of them. I found that when you run a synthetic oppose to a non synthetic oil at the same ratio the synthetic is too rich in oil. I run 50:1 after breakin and I have not had a problem, I think 45:1 is safe. Most people recommend that you run a good non synthetic for breakin and then go to a synthetic because a synthetic takes longer for breakin. I quess it's a personal preference, just take it easy on the throttle, if your radio has the capability of adjusting the servo throw I would set it at 40-45% at least for the first 2 tanks and set it to normal and run it wide open in spurts. Good luck and have fun.
