Choke??

Default Choke??

In which position should the lever for the choke be in for starting up or down?

On my fg mt it's down= choke on. level= choke off

Up when running. Think of it as the choke flap in the carburetor going in the same direction as the choke lever, ie. when you want air to get in the engine (choke off) it should run "with the lever" into the engine.

It is the same as valves for water and gas pipes etc. When the lever is 90 degrees to the pipe, it is closed and off (choke on in the carb). When it is in the same direction as the pipe, it flows freely (choke off).
