Default GEAR CARRIER HELP

for the fg, does the steel gear carrier just mount right on? or do i have to take anything out first... sorry i'm new to this an i remember reading in a past thread about a guy who mentioned something about his steel gear carrier and he did something wrong and it messed up his spur gear???

The carrier mounts right on. Depending on the manufacturer, some of them (like ours) have a design which will require the clutch bell pinion being installed backward (with the hub pointing away from the engine). But other than that it should be a straight forward installation.

ye the alloy is a direct replacement for the plastic one i replaced it recently

top tip locktite the grub screws and make sure they are tight and they sit on the flatened part of the shaft it might be worth investing in the hardedned steel shaft.
