hornmann jumbos
hey , i've just been having a look at the jumbo wheels to put on my marder,
dos anyone have any pics with them on, and how did you find them over the stock tyres?
thanks
and has anyone tried running the jumbos in the rear and the "skinny" tyres up front ? http://www.rc-car-online.de/shopen/m...ow_grip_tn.jpg

RE: hornmann jumbos
There is a forum thread from a couple of months ago where someone took a picture of Horman Jumbos next to Marder and ST tires.
I searched for the thread with no luck.

I sure would like to get a buggy, would be cool to have it at 535wb.
There are so many things you could convert a buggy to, just wish i had thought of that sooner
Please do post some pictures for J D if you got any, would be nice to see that setup.

I know what you mean J D, there is ALWAYS holes in this bigscale hobby to pour money into... sometimes it just makes me laugh specially when i find new hoopups i dont really need, but is so cool i get to have them anyways
Have also happen when i showed my girlfriend a new expensive bigscale thing (car or big hoopup) i want to get.... all of a sudden i get a slap in the face [sm=eek.gif] I think she does it to get those new ideas out of my head...... but it never works

Tires seem to be the key for some performance depending on where you drive. I've tried several different tires over the years.
Here's my 2 cents!!
Firehammer tires and rims work great, inexpensive but you can't use them with disk brakes and the diameter is smaller that on a Leopard Race so you lose some speed. No need to have more torque anyway. I had the tires on Leopard rims which also work well but the diameter is still smaller and there's less cushion since the tires fit on very tight.
FG monster wheels work great and last super long. For winter or good dirt traction, stud them and you will have a blast. Until you drive it that way on pavement and then you will spin out alot.
Moabs on proline rims with the 23MM adapters. Great traction on pavement but the tires will not hold up as good since they are no belted. Plus there's so much torque the inside hex can strip easier.
Since I only have the Leopard Race now I'm limited to the stock wheels with the offset so my disk brakes will work or a set of stadium wheels. (Same diameter) They would also work well for pavement.
The distributor is close by so getting wheels is not too bad it's just the $$ for them. I think I'll eventually get a new set of Leopard Race wheels and use them only on grass and dirt. My current set will be my beaters but until I get a new set I will baby them.

Hi wayneuk, when you glue the tires to the st wheels do you use regular CA glue?Is there a need to scrape the chrome off the inside of the rim where the bead of the tire gets glued? What about the alloy st rims,do I use a different kind of glue[sm=confused.gif]
