the L & H screws on the side of the carb are set to factory settings h =1.5 l=1.25
the engine seems to really struggle to move the car but then when its moving it really shifts i take it that this is a problem with the L screw which way does in need turning

ie leaning off or turning up ie more fuel ?

oh and second question last time i had the spark plug out i noticed a load of black on the top of the cylinder i asked some local bikers they said it was oxidization to remove this they said to use REDX ??

is this a good idea and does any one else have this black on the top of their cylinder will it do the engine harm and how can i prevent this in the future..

whenever theres a problem i have with any engine, i always try richening it first before trying leaning.

Yes, i would richen the low end first.Just a little bit at a time.As far as the black stuff,do you mean it is on cylinder somewhere or on top of the piston.If it is on top of the piston it is just some carbon build up.I would leave it there because this is FREE compression.

can i just ask if you richen it that means you are putting more fuel into the engine which will take longer to burn slowing it down

whereas if you lean off the engine less fuel and quicker burn

oil mix is fine.

yes richening ur mixture, is ur fuel / air mixture, more fuel. so as ur richen ur low speed needle ur idle wil ldrop, so u may have to raise that slightly as well to compenstate.

Not sure about the carbon issue but the rest sounds like a defective clutch spring (too soft) What clutch are you running. I had the same problem with the 4 shoe clutch and a broken spring. I am also having the same problem with my Leopard right now because I revved the motor without the clutch bell (stupid idea) to illustrate the movement of the clutch shoes to a large scale noob. I am going to try the two shoe tuning clutch. I have had the four shoe and hated it (although it would probably be great for on-road and drifting turns. I want late engagement and %100 lock-up. The four shoe provided late engagement but very limp response.

im running the stock clutch is it possible to adjust this or is it time for a new one. ive only had the thing since December. ill take the bell off later what am i looking for. and i realise if something is broken its probably broken.
