Default 1:5 onroad

Greetings all!

I want to buy a 1:5 car to next summer onroad. Which one is good? H.A.R.M? FG? Carson?
H.A.R.M and FG are price so they are good quality also right? How about Carson then? They are little cheaper than FG and HARM.

How about Chines ones? Quality? I think they are not good but first time drivers maybe [:-] Please share you all info with me

FG is by far the way to go. Parts are very easy to get. There are lots of dealers in the US. I wouldnt buy anything else.

Thanks for link Bryan!

Those Carson cars look good to me and big bonus they are not so expensive if you compared other brands.
How about those engines? Carson comes with CY 23 Is there power enough to make some race etc.. or is it better way to chance to Zenoah?

I just heard that Carson is basically same car than Fg Sportline. Is that true or just rumour?

they cys are pretty much just as good as the Zens. both are very Portable motors, and the parts between them are near identical..
i have a CY 28.5 that has been race ported in my Baja, and its a screamer, without the race porting.

your very welcome ,i cant really compare . the carson has the tuned pipe and the front disk brakes and the rear sway bar . a gear cover and is ready to run i dont think the fg has the added stuff on the sportsline but i would say they are the same car .the cy23 is a damm good engine it pushed my carson to 47 mph .very fun well built car .guess you could call it the best bang for the buck.

Don't forget that alot of FG parts will fit the carson too as far as spares and hop-ups go.

Harm Sx3, befroe the Harm i brought a china copy, and it was more like a toy then a rc car, it doesnt come with oil shocks, (the shock shock was riding on air).
the chassis bends just by pulling the pull start, not to mention it bends more when driving[img][/img].
So basiclly dont go to china way for rc unless u r sure they are up to the job.
quote i am a chinese too[img][/img] hahahaaha.
hope this help?

Thanks for reply oic20v!

It helps a lot! but some you pics don't work. maybe linked wrong or something? I try to avoid china copies.
But that Carson looks good to me. They are also available with Solo engine? Is that just a copy of Zenoah or what?
I just want to start this hobby but my wallet is not so deep to buy HARM etc.. Carson is ideal choice for me but i really wondering quality etc. I hope they are not China copies also.

not to hijack any threads, but are there any AWD onroad large scale cars? i've been looking around lately since early fall and i don't see any manufactured AWD on road bashers or racers.

thanks for any help you could send my way.

The 4x4 onroads cost 2, alomst 3 times as much as the Carson 2 wheel drive...they dont normally get sold with radios, engines or tunpipes unless they run special deals....those are extra costs[&:]

This is the link to the new carsons already in europe 499 euros plus shipping, RTR with a pipe, engine, front brakes and radio

yeah, they are a bit on the pricey side, but am looking for more of a rally type 1/4 - 1/5. having the engine layout of an FR is nearly imposible with keeping to scale. (FR = Front engine, Rear wheel drive)

thanks again,
BV

Hi Timmahh

As you can see, there are two models at this time. One is the 2006 model- Contrast neo and the new model Contrast 2
There are also tWo price rages one with a standard 23cc and one with a 23 tuning motor..

Prices are including Vat ( Sales Tax ) but customers in the US do not pay this, so you can deduct 20% from the prices quoted on my homepage
