Hey thanks FG,anyone with opinions on this would be great .
Now the only hard this is hanging up the car for the amount of time to get the work done to it.
I would like to get the work done before I even fire it up,or is that a bad thing?
I think once I start using it,,it will be that much harder not too and wait the time for the work to get done....im up in the air on this one,I may wanna just buy a fully done 23cc and swap it out just not to lose time using it...ahh man who knows,money,money,money!

were do you port it out do you have pics you could show me??
i would not buy a pipe for the stock engine . if i wanted to do that id just go and buy a more powerfull motor like a 30cc then it would be worth getting a pipe .

If you dont have experience porting, I would'nt attempt to do it. If you want to try it yourself, contact Earth Surfer for some advice.
Why wouldnt you buy a pipe for a stocker?
I think you would be quite surprised with what a tuned pipe can do to a stock motor, especially a massaged 23.

yeah ask earthsurfer bout it and he could either walk you through some steps.or he could do it for you.but you could add a pipe to a stocker,it makes a huge difference!

I got an old husky 25cc that I think im about to replace maybe I should try some mods to it. I dont know if Im wrong but I would just about put money that my wead eater turns atleast 9k rpm.

a good 60 cc chain saw engine can put out 10 hp without a pipe, we have a husky 60cc that is 12 years old, never been rebuilt and still runs 17:1 compression, if your looking for a good engine they are they way to go, the only problem is that a good chainsaw can run into 1 and a half or 2 grand (our husky was $3500 AUS 12 years ago) so in that respect a purpose built RC engine is the way to go, but chainsaw engines have a lot of potential once ported and have a good tuned pipe.
also if your looking into around 60 cc engines, the Kawasaki KX 60 engine puts out 16 hp, and a KTM 50 engine puts out 13.3, the 50 uses a simple gear reduction box and centrifugal clutch so if you wanted, you could mount that in an RC with some custom engine mounts and some modifications to the given car/trucks chassis to allow for it's larger size.

to the guys saying it will not work i get 35-40mph out of a ported tuned 33cc weed eater engine with the pop off pressure adjusted on the carb diaphragm and thats just on a go ped not a damn rc car ive worked on small two stroke engines for years and mr chevy modifier out there a two stroke is an entirely diff animal compression ports ignition timing and just about the whole engine is 100% diff dont compare a chevy to a rc car the rc doesn't brake down get 8mpg and rest in a junk yard no offense meant just gm in general only interest is in money they are owned partly by big oil no joke intended and not one of their cars has something that the consumer doesnt need to keep coming back to a dealer or paying them for.. the weed eater will work on the contrary it may get 1.5 hp or so on but everyone misinterprets power to weight nowadays over hp brake hp is just the diff between speed but not how it got there torque the little thingy that half the modders out there destroy with turbos and vast quantities of ignoring dynamic compression linking to valve overlap is whats needed for that boost to mean anything you take a dragster 1000bhp but teeny bits of torque vs a homeowners idk say chevy thats already on here that has ten times more torque if not modded to extremes weed eater engines have the ideal workings but they have to be ported and that took me five minutes in my shop not a big deal just as long as you do the math and they are far more open to performance then a zenoa with its hefty price tag. knife edge and lighten the connecting rod, radius and waist(waisting is when you remove material at spots prone to wear due to poor design take a square edge on a shaft vs a taper the taper may seem weaker but the edge will break first due to stress.) do NOT lighten the flywheel unless you want to wonder why up hill and high stress races are too slow. the inertia of the flywheel is what keeps the power going on a climb. the pop off pressure can be changed by enlonging or shortening the spring under the carbs diapragm gasket this is how you can get a little better boost without big issues as long as you run the right temp plug and everything is kosher. a zenoa? you can look at it whilst broke not able to afford gas and when the big bad power of this overpriced beast wreaks havok and you need new parts gearboxes ect. you can think of how the weedeater engine not only saved you that money but its torque curve was different so you got power where it was needed. dont fall for the commercialised hype and go out spending hard earned money on things be smarter then the marketing dept's

a 23 will actually scream with motor work.. i know you didnt ask me but you get more RMP's out of a smaller displacement.. more rpms means more speed i wouldnt worry about bottom end you'll get that with a good pipe and you still have reed porting go with. race porting the head ect. I would keep the 23 for the on-road

hahaha yeah old thread now lol , since then ive learned to race port engines and other sneaky ways to increase power , lol looking back at this thread now stock weed wacker engine revs out to 7 -9thou rpm , lol thats weak just enough to engage the clutch spring prob wouldnt even get a heavy 5b moving lol
