Just curious i hear about the 2 speed, but i haven't heard anything about reverse?
Anyone have reverse or is their anyway to add it?

Me too. Reverse would be too cool and I don't have a clue about the 2 speed. How does the 2 speed work? Can you add it to any car/truck? With my car running about 50mph would I need a 2 speed?

yeah as far as im aware they fit any gas engine nad i should imagon there a good mod as it would allow you to gear it for good accleration and then 2nd gear can be a gear for a good top end so you get the best of both worlds, i may be wrong in sayin this though as im a learning newbee to these trucks, as far as reverse i aint seen any on line yet and since i got my truck that all i been doin is search for upgrades and info,

Dang, see not having reverse is one of the things i hated about my 1/8 Savage. My GSt 7.7 has reverse and thats one of the main reasons i bought it. I hate running into something and then having to go run up to turn it around lol.

1/4 scale has reverse. Some people have tried to make reverse for 1/5-1/6 but the problem is it sticks too far out the side of the model and looks crapy.[]

REAL MEN don't use Reverse in trucks... they use the 4x4 button and just go up and over it

Anyway, there is a MCD large scale truck on e-bay right now that is saying it has a 4x4 conversion kit and reverse in it. Pics don't help to see if it does or not.

the second gear for fg's to what ive read are a nightmare to setup, but once tuned it works a treat

It's a FAKe!!!!![] It was a CEN genisis with a cy motor and a MCD body on it. NO RTR have a production reverse that works. Only 1/4[8D]

The 2 speed is dead easy to set up, just like the savage turn in the screw for later shifts out for earlier. You have to take the gears off the layshaft to access the screw though which takes a couple of minutes each time.
One thing I fould was the little steel pin in the carrier that catches the shift dog is way too wimpy, i've snapped a couple and pulled one out of the carrier destroying it. I now drill out the carrier boss, cut off an M5 shock screw FG part 6096, I cut the smooth shaft part down to size and hammer it in, haven't broke it since
