Default Looking into going LARGE SCALE.... Have a few questions though.

Hey,

I have been lookin into buying a nitro truck for some time now, but I hate all of the tuning and problems that come with the nitro powered trucks. So I thought why not get one with a gas engine?

I was looking into buying the HPI Baja. I have heard alot of good things about it. I have also heard about the FG's. These seem a little bit expensive though.

Is the Baja a good basher? I live in the desert and it will be jumping some. Can it handle this? Is it a good idea to upgrade the radio system from the stock one? How fast do they go stock?

Any help is appreciated[8D]

Personally, I have an FG leopard...and love it. It goes prob 35mph or so...it is pretty durable as long as you aren't on Asphalt....Keep in mind they weigh about 25lbs and when you get going that fast and crash...there is bound to be damage. The nice thing is that most 1/5 scale parts are universal. I broke a shock shaft and was able to get one at my local hobby store. Check out vsmodelsport.com and tell them you saw it at the CORR race and they will take care of you.

If you live in the desert, go for the baja. Its all about sand. Ive hooked up with quite a few fg dudes on the beach where i drive. They stand no chance of following me trough the dunes.

If you want to "BASH", get a FG MT.

I've terrorized my neighborhood with mine, and have hit, slammed, jumped, colided, tweeked, and twisted up every possible "hit" around ehre, and the only damages I have sustained is body scratches, a trashed front skid bumper plate, and a bent tie rod. All cost in repaoirs so far: ZERO.

The FG truck has driven away from stuff that has left my friends with broken trucks and buggies and returned to the same thing that wrecked their cars a minute before and launched off the jumps or up and over/ into 12 foot high hemlock trees (don't ask) and wallets with moths in them and keeps driving as if it was a tank.

If you want to try and destroy a $1500.00+ piece of equipment, I can almost promise you that you can't with the FG MT.

My "Bash trials" are over. I will stand behind FG for life with this model !

EDIT: take note I believe Swede has a 30 sized engine on his buggy... the FG are running 26 and I can just about destroy any thing a baja can , and go over obstacles that a buggy in my path can't.
GSWEDE.... seasoned or marinated shorts ? I'll post a vid later

Well, for the price the Baja is the best bang for the buck. 5B RTR $900 FG RTR $1400.

haha.

Actualy I was just out in the rain. I FINALY managed to break somethign and put the truck away untill repairs, and it was just metal fatigue, not actual damages. The inner ball join universal on my drive shaft crapped out on me. I'll take a pic once I get the wheel and shocks off. Apparently this is an unheard-of thing to break.

COOL !
