Great. Glad you don't have a bad taste in your mouth about it. Spoke with the guy who brings the track down and he had a family emergency and was in the hospital all night. He gave me his address and location of the trailer and track so it's accessible for us if he ever can't make it. So sleep easy next time you come out, there will definitely be a track from here on. We will be there this Sun ready to roll if you can maki it.
By the way, you made great time on the way here, how long did it take to get home? Any traffic?

Hey whats up,
Sorry pock I didnt get back to you,,had some real bad news after we spoke.
The building in NYC where the 2 fireman died,,one was a good friend I grew up with.
So when I heard,I went straight to see his family,,just had a baby 4 months ago,,he had 2 little girls and to boot,,today is his 34th birthday.
So it kinda hit me hard, being our familes were close at one time.
Didnt mean not to get back to you,,I did call hours later and left a voice mail.
I did pass FBF around 4pm and seen about 40 people where the 1/4 scale drag strip is,,they had the lights ,radar gun and cameras everywhere..
Spoke to afew of the guys there and they let me race 2 ,1/8th street buggies, ran 69 mph and took the first race, second race I ran 71mph had a better time but lost by an inch,so they say.lol
everyother weekend there is about 20-25 guys with cars, trucks and buggies running there on that strip..
I didnt stay long, had to meet a customer by the track and thats how I heard.
Anyway I am sorry for not getting back to you right away.
Thanks
Pete

MY CONDOLENSES AND BEST WISHES GOES OUT TO THE FAMILES OF THE 2 FIREMEN THAT LOST THEIR LIVES !
But no prob Pete, as u can see by the previous posts, we had no track to even race with ! I still enjoyed the afternoon with the guys exchanging ideas & storys ! Rc'ers can always find other things to do(wish we could have had the track but its ok). Some guys fine tuned their cars and others just walked around talking and meeting new faces ! Cant wait to get back out there and run again. Probably be another 2 weeks before I can, but I will be out again. this weekend I might swing by FBF for a quick min ! Anybody going to FBF this weekend ?

I just got back from the wake,
It was packed,,never seen that many news vans, fireman and cops.
The line was a block long when I left there.
Very nice service..Feel bad for his 2 kids and wife.
Anyway as far as FBF,I will be there earlier around 12pm at the drag strip,,its just across the rc plane field.
Call me before you go if you like.
Thanks

What's up guys, been real busy with work. Anyone coming on Sun? Been having a great turnout lately. Every Sunday 5-6 cars running.
Alan, after my meeting with the tire and your close call I've decided to tow any vehicles that are near the track to the other side of the parking lot. My parts should be here tomorrow. Wasn't that bad, just the bulkheads, hingepins, and the carbon fiber top brace. Might be able to straighten them alittle and save them for spares, or put them on the marder buggy that I'm converting to on-road. It cost 60$ for the parts to convert. Should be road worthy by Sun. Just have to decide on a body because it's 465mm which is the short chassis. Don't really know what's out there besides the Porsche.

Is your comp car still up and running or are you going to play with the buggy Sunday???
I haven't pulled my engine apart but after removing the filter it looks like a lot of crap got past it with the crappy oiling job I had done since I didn't have the right oil... I think that's why it was running so hot, I've never hit 240 before... (Gotta Love Nomadio...) I have the other engine on the car now and we'll see how that runs... I think I'm going to order a cylinder and rebuild kit from DDM and just rebuild it... I have a little more work to do on the car Saturday, I tried to get stuff done during the week but my little monster keeps me from being productive...
I need to get tires before we go to 301, how was Larry's for price and how quick did they get them??? That whole box I have of tires suck for racing... I'd like to stay with the PMT's with a 20 rear and a 30 front but I guess I'll get the GRP's if the price is right...

RE: 1/5th scale on road on L.I.
Hey guys whats up,
Have'nt seen pock posting to much????? whats up?
Anyway,Sunday FBF 1/4 scale drag strip will be packed with big cars.
Went 2 weeks ago,,the SportLine and Carson C-5 I have both ran great,,even shut up a couple of big mouths with some REVOS and 1/8th scale street buggies.
They have it set up nice there for Drag,,its kinda exciting with that big bunch of people all screaming for there favorite...its different,,but hey maybe it's a new turn for 1/5th onroad's.
I am about finished installing my 2 speed trans and a fresh set of GRP DTM wheeles,,A's in the back and went with C compound in the front.
The new GRP's DTM line are really nice and priced right.
Anyway,I have a wedding at 5pm sunday so I have to stay local or I would make my way out to LI with you guys,,so I guess im dragging sunday!
Take care!
