I have never owned, drove, or seen in person a baja or any large scale RC vehicle. Ive got a piece of paper and also loged into my computer is my finances. Im only 15 and so far got some cash to get me started. my tracking for finances will be at the end of the post. im aiming for the baja 5B new, with the DDM Dominator pipe I will order from www.LargescaleRC.com

Finances

HPI Baja w/DDM Dominator pipe $1139.98
money mom/dad owes me - 70.00
from selling my maxx - 60.00
selling my muffler for 1:1 car - 10.00

Total Left: $999.98

I'm getting a Baja 5B as well, though I am doing it the easy way: trading.

i am getting a baja 5b also. but not till next year. although money is not hard, i have spent close to $500 on my savage, that totals to $1000 with the purchase of the car[] and in two months.

the conclusion, my wife is not very happy, thus prolong my plan to get the baja till next year

If it's a crawler, it shouldn't have a clutch, and it should be 4wd. Reverse is a bonus as well

its a chain driven transfercase.but from transfercase to axels is all shaft driven and it does have a clutch.its just a mini chopper motor.and it is also 4wd.i have done my home work.it should work pretty well.[&:]this thing is huge.i even drew up my 4 link and i have done all the neccesary converions and scaling.

What do you guys think a Used Baja would go for if it has had 2 tanks of fuel run through it and it came with a set of slicks mounted on an extra set of wheels?

Forget the firehammer. It's like the toy of 1/5 scalers. It's just a rebadged smartech.
For the baja, those slicks are probably just stockers that he wore down.
I'd say 850 is a good price

i would buy used. That's the difference between large scale and nitro. Buying used can save you money.
