What is , in your opinion a reason to go for the FG Baja instead of the HPI Baja??

I am looking into getting a bigscale , i am driving 2 nitro's at the moment and i love to bash and jump with them....

which one of these bigscale'e can take more of the pounding i have in store for them...

Caretaker, I haven't had much driving experience with the hpi baja but from watching them run they will take a much harder beating than my FG although i haven't broken anything yet probably because i havent jumped hard like the hpi baja. I also find that the hpi baja jumps much more level in the air compared to the FG but, the Fg still can jump well and take a beating. if you want some thing a bit faster go for the FG, my LHS said that it is 10mph faster every where because there are only 4 gears in the transmission not 5 like in the hpi baja. i also feel you get a better stock engine with the FG but if you are looking to spend money upgrades are endless for both cars now. Leaving this post i will probably start another flame war, so please dont THIS IS JUST MY OPINION from my experiences. both cars are great and ulitimately it is your personal choice. i love the FG and find it far faster. just my opinion!
Hope this helps

I am having a FG Baja Body done in Real Fire at the moment. Should be here soon. I will post pictures once finished. I am thinking of dying the wheels black to go with the paint scheme. The paint is being done by US custom painter Steve Zielke.

They look great but the rollover cage is very weak, where the metal tubes meet the plastic centre joins. I accidentally broke the cage right off one today in a model shop - oops!

Does anyone make a large scale buggy with a real welded steel cage?

like to see the FG Baja run with a 2-speed and a pipe, with formula-one tires on it. it must be real quick..........

Love the look of the FG Baja.

I personally find the HPI Baja looks like a stick insect with wheels. And thats where the problem lies as my head tells me that for fun the HPI Baja is the way to go but my heart tells me the FG Baja looks soooo good. I'm just afraid that everytime I take it out for a bash I'll end up coming home early because it broke something.

Am I being over cautious or are the FG's really that fragile?

well we raced both here and a couple of weeks ago my fg baja took on 2 hpi bajas 1 ss and 1 rtr and still came out top and went home working where as the the hpi bajas both lost wheels and we did jump and race them hard and my fg baja cleared the double np as u can see in the video
