How fast is it??
This is on my Baja with a race ported Zen 260, RRP 55- 18 gear set, Milike pipe, and Elcon clutch.
Now I can say "I know how fast it is"
It was also still a liitle wet and this is on grass.
Any others have speeds to post??
That last shot of the motor doesnt belong with these, got a little picture happy, its a old shot.[:@]

RE: How fast is it??
Encouraging results. How accurate do you think the GPS is? I might get one, I was going to make my own speed trap, which is 100% accurate, much easier to use the GPS though. I too am curious about your thoughts on the Mielke pipe, as I too have bought it, but not fitted it yet. I'm gonna run stock to start with so that I am able to understand the difference when I do get around to fitting it. Thanks also for posting your gearing, what's the stock gearing on the Baja? (Sorry, too lazy to look it up! )

RE: How fast is it??
These guys apparently hold several RC boat records and as far as I can tell have been involved with RC type motors for a lot longer than GBE who are relative newcomers to RC tuning. I am not saying they have done it, they are claims at the moment, and apparently they are trying to get their video uploaded, but I can say that there are a lot of RC engine tuners and pipe builders out there that have been around a lot longer than GBE, so I don't think it's all that remarkable that someone has a faster engine setup.
Here is a link to the guys site that built the engine-
http://hometown.aol.com/ccracingengines/index.html
With a background like that, I would be more inclined to believe their claims. As it stands now, GBE is still very much un-proven in the RC world, I cannot find a single web hit to anything they have done. Not to be harsh towards them, that is not my intention, but looking at the available info, I would say that CC Racing has a little more clout at the moment.
I look forward to see what GBE has up their sleeve as well, they seem like pretty sharp guys, and they have been attending the local events, so it is not unreasonable to think they will eventually be a very recognizable name in RC, but right now, with a backgound like these guys have (CC Racing) I am especially interested in what they come up with.

RE: How fast is it??
Guys,
I only posted our test results to let people know what we were doing. This is more of a fun thing to me then anything else. I build modified Zenoah engines for boats everyday as this is what I do for a living. I have no reason to lie about our results today. It took us the entire day to get it to run the numbers we were looking for and we were fighting the wind and a less then perfect radio that was not intended for what we were doing with it. The buggy has an extremely modified Zenoah that has been dynoed and tuned at our shop. The gearing on the car is a 19/55 and we were turning 18,800 rpm. Please do all the math with the tire size and also consider that the tires were growing quite a bit and let me know what you come up with. I will be posting video as soon as my computer guy can get it done for me. I did not know that we had done anything that had never been done before

RE: How fast is it??
CC Racing Engines,
Build us a great motor for the general public to buy. I know Bill Meador said he has one heli motor you did and it is awesome. I would be interested in a hot motor for my fg monster truck, one for my hpi baja and one for my Spectra g heli.

RE: How fast is it??
Ok, I'm gonna have to get this on photo (I have a cop buddy that should be able to gun me, might take a week or 2) but my ride has previously been clocked at 57mph, off the nitrous! I will get proof asap, 28.5 race prepped oneill motor, DDM pipe, 2 speed

RE: How fast is it??
Lets compare apples to apples, CC Racing apparently did it with a single speed. I have no doubt that a well tuned motor with a 2 speed can do 57, but I am really impressed with 60 on a single [X(]

I digress, you're right 60 on a single speed is more than impressive though might be a bit of a slug off the line[sm=bananahead.gif]

RE: How fast is it??
Raptor 8,
Give me a call at the shop 1-504-305-5005.

It really is not that bad off the line. It just depends on what pipe we are running and where we have the clutch set. I had to have Matt at Luna Tik build us some wheelie bars as it wants to flip over backwards when we run it on the local R/C dragstrip. It has gone [email protected] on the 132 ft track. That is as fast as any of the nitro monstor trucks that have raced.
