MCD launch new Evo III cars
MCD have released the first pictures of their new Evo III Baja 1000 and Racerunners, including a tarmac (on-road) version called the Super Buggy.
The lower wishbones now have three positions for the anti-roll (sway) bar and there is a new plastic front bumper. It is not possible to tell whether the lower wishbones are now attached to the car using pivot/hinge pins instead of plastic rose joints.
Hopefully there will be some close-up pictures of the new cars available in the next few days.

I think they might have changed to hinge pins. If you look at the front of the chassis it no longer curves up, it is flat. I just hope if they went with the hinge pin, they make a conversion for the earlier Baja 1000’s.

I can confirm that the new suspension uses hinge pins.
Hopefully MCD will eventually release a conversion set for the earlier cars but to date they have not released a conversion set for the original cars to Evo 2 spec!!
I have only just finished upgrading my original spec Race Runner to Evo 2 Comp spec and that was more expensive than it should have been as a number of the key parts (wishbone extension etc) were unavailable so I had no choice but to purchase complete assembled wishbones.
To be fair to MCD the conversion sets that have released to date for the Rally car have represented a significant saving on buying the parts separately.

Clone of an old out of date car. MCD are way ahead of the cloners. They aint half the price here in Oz, probably why demand for MCD's outstrips supply here!

Give it a month or 2 after release and there will be a clone..............sad to say but there will be clones
Me thinks the people in OZZ my have been sold on the hype of MCD ask owners in the UK what they think
Import some of the clones to OZZ ....start a business

I've deleted a number of posts, as I feel they were inappropriate for the topic being discussed here.
This is a thread for the new MCD products. While I do not discourage the discussion of clones, this is not the place for it. There are already multiple threads dedicated to the MCD clones. Please can we keep this thread about the genuine articles. It is very poor etiquette to steal a manufacturer's thunder by bringing up the topic of cheap and unauthorised reproductions in a thread dedicated to the genuine articles. Thanks.

RE: MCD launch new Evo III cars
I welcome MCD's innovation and evolution - they are constantly evolving to try and bring a better product - when they started they were the only shaft driven 1/5th scale, they took a gamble and it seems to be paying off (even with the cheap knock off clones going around), our local MCD distributor in Aus is always selling out of them pretty quickly. They have evolved past past the level the clones are at and seem to be staying 1 step ahead instead of giving up.
Well done Sinan and the whole MCD team - we needed a hinged front end and they delivered.
