Default FS Racing 2-4WD OFF-Road Monster Truck and Buggy Forum

I just wanted to start a thread for everyone who has a FS Racing 2-4WD OFF-ROAD Monster Truck and Buggy. This is a thread to post pics, ask questions and get review info if you are looking to buy one. Also some talk about upgrades and other radio issues as well.

I like one good place to come find information so here it is. Post anything about your FS RC here.

Default RE: FS Racing 2-4WD OFF-Road Monster Truck and Buggy Forum

I recently bought the FS Racing 1/5th scale 4WD Monster truck and I have to say it is a lot of fun. There are a couple of things though that you should make sure to do with this particular truck.
1. The GWS S666 is a 208oz servo at 6v and I stripped one gear the first run so to avoid this go with a metal gear servo.
2. Get a better radio.
3. Just get two servos for it. I got two GWS metal gear high TQ servos at 400 oz each at 6v. Steering is not a problem now.
4. Upgrade the throttle and brake servo to a higher TQ servo as well. It is an ok servo for the first few slow runs but once you really start to bash, it really has trouble stopping the car as well as it should. I just threw in a hitec 645mg I had laying around and now it stops fast.
5. From the factory for some reason it was tuned lean... just be smart and check the settings before you run the first time!!
6. Buy a better filter then the one that comes with it. I went with a 3" K&N cone type (not sure the make right now) and it gave the motor more life!!!
7. Get the tuned pipe!!!! You won’t be sorry!!! IT screams now.
8. I tried to replace a few parts with MCD like the lower front Y supports and they were different so beware of doing this.... it probably would help if someone close to a parts dealer of MCD had this truck and could post a compatibility chart!!!!!

For the money it is a great truck. Even with upgrades is less expensive the any other one out there. If you are going to order it let me know. I got someone in California who is a distributor and is excellent. If there is a mistake he is so fast in fixing it. He also has parts in the US for it so the wait isn’t as long for them. Right now he still orders the actual truck from China.

This truck is a lot of fun and does take abuse well. It’s a great and fun buy!!

They are a good step into large scale. I know myself, I always upgrade after i know that i like it. I did the same getting into airplanes. I went with the cheap models like the $59 to start off and now i have a few planes that are 2-4g each. So if things go well, I will get a diffrent one later.

LOL @ Me...

I saw the heading of this thread and thought to myself:
Who in the world would want to buy a forum?
People are giving them away for free.

hellya and clubin,
give the poor guy a break he already missed the thread we have on here dedeicated to the fs racing cars.
personaly after spending sevaral days waiting on parts for my diff, getting them, and installing them. i ran 1/2 tank thru it and the diff gave up the ghost again! it had plenty of grease, the bolts holding it together were tight, and it still broke a pin and split another gear. all of my driveline was smooth with no abnormal play. i just dont think they can handle real power, they seem to do o.k. with the stock fs motor. but if you put any real power to it, they break. this is the last time i will attempt to keep making this car reliable i have had some awsome support from a couple of fs retailers, and to them i say thank you. but my fs racing days are done, i will be getting an mcd in the future but for i have a new redcat on the way!

I'm closing this. It's become a mess. It started off as a commercial post, so I cleaned it and left it, but it seems I made a bad judgement. A quick reminder of our rules for everyone, I'm not singling anyone out here.

No commercial activities on the forums.
No posting 'Wanted' or 'For sale' ads of ANY kind.
No mention of stock levels by dealers.
ALL commercial entities MUST identify themselves in their signatures... eg Mike - Mike's Toys.

What you MAY do...

Non-paying advertisers may make a SINGLE product announcement, ONCE per month. In it's own thread.
Ask membership where to buy parts for a certain car.
Dealers may respond to such requests with links to their products, but ONLY when justified by a question which is not from a shill, and they should NOT post links to homepages.
eg.
Member: Where can I get parts for my FS truck in Canada...
Dealer response... what do you need?
Member: I need a diff.
Dealer response... here you go... www.mikestoys.net/differentials.htm

I know this can be a thin line guys, but please try to walk it. The aim is not to disrupt your businesses, or to deprive our members of valuable information. The goal is to provide benefits to those commercial entities which do business with RCU. They tend to take it rather harshly when others who are not paying advertisers conduct business in the forums.

Once again, not singling anyone out here, this is just a reminder. The thread is being closed cos it's going nowehere, and is inviting inappropriate activity in the forums. Furthermore, there are 20 other threads about these cars.

Thanks for understanding.

I'm keping the original radio, works fine for me. I would like to have a seprate expo setting, but I thin this radio is good enough. Both of my servos failed do u know any servos that have the exact bold pattern as the originals? I used a Hitech Hs 5765MH and only 2 screws line up. I put the 2 left screws through the servo holes, and the 2 right screws went on the outside of the servo ears with washers for more support. Did that Hitech 645 match the screw holes?
I put the killerbees switch in the battery box and ordered it with the green LED> I mounted the battery just behind the shocks with velcro.
This car is built well, I run it on a pretty rough field.
The pict on the right is the steering servo that fell apart. The left pict is the broken throttle servo ears. Too much pressure on the braking. I would like to get a throttle servo that needs no modification to screw in. Thank u
