Default Help Me Find A Shock

Project: HardCORR needs front shocks. Recieved my HPI Rears the other day. Now for the front I need something 6" - 7" extended and 4" compressed. I thought about shortening a HPI front but maybe you all know something better for me. What do these MCD Long strocks or Med strokes sit at. Or maybe SmartTech. HPI seems to be the only one that gives measurements. Please Help......Thanx

Smartech Titan shocks sound like they would fit the bill. They're very nice, smooth operating shocks with very thick shafts too.

About how big around are those? Fat like baja's or a little smaller? I could go smaller.

How about the FG MT shocks? I see they're a dual shock set up which is what I'd like on my front. I don't really see them complete. Looks like I gotta get springs seperate. You guys know what they measure? or a good place to get'em?

FG stock shocks are garbage. I don't know if my thunderbolt shocks are the same length as titan shocks, but I would guess they might be. I'll measure them for you later.

the rear shocks are 6.75" extended, 5.25" compressed

I've been measuring from center of mounting hole to center of mounting hole

one note on the stock shocks, with the stock pistons in them with a decent oil, they dampen too much for the shock shaft to handle jumps, but they do offer some harder ones.

the monster buggy parts are only available through traxxas, unless you find some on ebay, which I haven't found any parts for them at the moment

Well, after further examination of my Savage front end I'm using I realize I might have to bag the dual shock set up. Savave shocks mount up close to the hub. With wider shocks I'll have to mount them mid a-arm to keep 'em away from the tire under full turn. Now with a second shock on the tailing edge may get in the way of the steering linkage. Let me play with these measurements 5.5" - 4" and 6.75" - 5.25". I think I'm sold on one of these and tracking down Traxas supplies would be easier than some of these other guys. Thanx alot Ranger and Foxy.

true, you know Traxxas will be around, and their site is always there, and something like shocks probably isn't going to strand you for too long... I bent one of my rear shafts but was able to straighten it without too much work

glad I could help
