Rampage Racing at Milestone Race #5
Here is the first video of PhatDad-RC racing his Rampage Truggy at Milestone this weekend. The changes he made were: added an HPI pipe, Phatdad shocks, baja wheels with Proline tires, and changed the gearing to 27/33. Still running the 23cc CY engine. He took first place in his qualifier, and landed in the A-main. Lost a steering servo in the a-main, so he was out. The truck handled great.

Cool vid rob, cool vid, i enjoyed watching that, i wish there was some 1/5 scale races close to me, i would love to do that.

Would be great to see the following cars all in a race...
Hurrax crypton, fg 4wd baja, smt thunderbolt, redcat rampage and MCD racerunner. Heh, why not stick an FS in there too, just for fun.
I've got a thunderbolt with space under the windows, for ALL your names with a strike through them! [>:]
So, who's going to put me up at their place for a week when I come? I should have a crypton of my own by then, to go with the TB.
Nelson, if you pay my expenses (flights and hotel), I'll show them what my Smartech powered TB can do!! It's all up to you! lol

In europe there has been a race very near to what you have described. The FG broke a belt in the first race ... Bummer ! It was it's first race though. The Hurrax ran decent, but did not make the "A" main. The FS cars didn't do very well, but it's un-known to me who was getting them race ready &or driving. Not aware of Smartech being there ... They should though. I know Angel has his Hurricane running very well. No Redcat Rampages either to my knowledge. The finals was 10 MCD's in the "A" main race. There were a few HPI's there as well, but don't really compete with the 4x4 vehicles. It would be awesome to have all of the 4x4's together in a race with good drivers & see what shaked out. The Hurricane & Rampage models have come a long way in development. The Hurrax is still kind of an un-known along with the new FG. Sounds like a great time & some great video footage for sure.

The amazing thing was that that Phatdad was driving a truck he just got on Thursday. So, he didn't have too much time to mess around with it and do anything but install a pipe and his shocks. So, anyone could have had the same success, without spending too much money to get is in race condition.
