Default Pumping up MCD Monster Tires doesn`t work!

Hi i used the needle method for pumping up my tires, they are glued anyway i was supplied a bike pump with the needles, and as instructed and i have ssen pics on the net, i put the needle into the thickest part of the tread, i didn`t think any air was getting in as i had to push the pump was so hard. But evently it got harder, but to my annoyance the air comes out of the needle hol![:@]
You can feel it, and it is also coming out of one i tried earlier, so what do i do?
It seems such a stupid idea and now my tires seem realy soft.
Also does it make any diffence if you go in with the needle on an angle instead of straight?
Thanks
Guy

Just tried a front tire same thing you can feel the air coming out, perhaps it just keeps some in there it can only cope with a bit of pressure, which isn`t good becasue as standard they are softer then FG monster tires!

My understanding was you are supposed to use a syringe and put just a little air in the tire, no pressure realy just alittle to make the tire a bit harder. You're lucky that tire didn't blow up in your face.

hi clubin, nah i spoke to rossendale models, it was only a hand pump which they supply tou with and even after a lot of effort there was hardly any pressure at all the tires still soft. ANd still letting air out, Richard i think you i spoke to said it was a bit of a gimmick he thought and you pumped it up for like each session or something, i enquired wether they were ok with no foams as they are very soft tires i can easily pushed down the tires and touch the rims, easier than my FG MT.
So i`ll run it as it is. As mine were already glued i wouldn`t be able to put foams in them anyway.
Thanks

Does it leak out slowly or blast out after you remove the needle?

IF it leaks out slowly, put a drop of CA on your finger and wipe it over the hole. That will seal it up and it wont leak again.

What is a CA? What material can help with that? I tried just now to pump my new tries & all the air is coming out of the hole after I remove the needle.

It does not help since the air keep on coming out from the hole & the super glue just bubbels, it only dries when all the air is out...

Any ideas???

The Wizard is here !!!!!!!! What I did is this. Before I insert the needle I put "white out" of an X on the tire. This helps me find the spot of the were I inserted the needle easier. I put the needle in the middle of the X then I start to pump the tire slowly. Right before the tire is getting a little full I put a tiny bit of tire sealant in. Then I throw the tire in the air twirling it really fast so that sealant goes all over the inside walls of the tire before it drys. Once thats done. I look for that white X and I put my finger on the middle of it for a few minutes to make sure the sealant dries.

Note: I dont put too much air in cause the high pressure will force it's self out

This has worked for me with the MCD truck tires.

Thanks, sounds like a good plan, I will try that! how much sealant do you put in? I guess you put it in with the same niddle using and injector?
Also how often do you pump them? is it every few drives or just once evry 6 month or so? and do you try to use the same hole every time or new place each time?

Thanks!
Tom

I wouldn't put anything inthe tire, there is still foam in there, and putting anything else in there could cause the wheel to be seriously off balance. I think the pumping thing is not a good idea.

Hi Clubin, these are MCD Monster tires, they have no foam in them & even supplied with a pump & needles in order to inflate them, as a matter of fact you even have to inflate them since they are very soft at the moment (as they came in from the factory).

The question is how much much sealant to inject & how?

Thanks,
Tom

Well I checked my Mcd tires in the storage, one is slightly down in air but the other three are still pumped up. I pumped them up a few months ago. Not bad considering at the time I was putting many runs on those tires. The off balance issue you were saying Clubin is only if you put sealant in and dont turn the tire then that gop of sealant dries up in one spot in the inside wall of the tires. I split a bicycle tire once that I had put sealant in and rapidly turned the tire, that sealnat nicely coverage the inside thoroughly.

I put the sealant thru the threads, by a needle, and not too much sealant. Put equal amounts of it in all 4 tires doing this of course one at a time, make sure you spin those tires fast, I stress on this part, and dont put too much air in them.

that stuff worked great in my mountain bike's tires. just for testing, i used in the front tire only and i went through 4 rear inner-tubes until i finally put some in the 5th tube. no popped tires since then.

did you inject it with the needles that came with the MT tires? sorry just read you did use the needle, did you go round the tire makeing multiple holes or just use one spot, also did you use the thick part of the tread or the thin part?
thanks again.
Thanks
Guy

Hi Guys,

Can I get some explanation on how this stuff work? I mean do you put it in only when you have a flat tire (I am referring now to the bikes) or do you put it in at first and it stays in a liquid condition in the tire & then when you have a flat tire the liquid “goes” to the hole & seal it?

Regarding the MCD tire how much sealant should I put in the tire after pumping it? What quantity?

Thanks,
Tom

I put the sealant when I pump air into the tire. The sealant when it's in the tire you twirl the tire so the sealant can find its way to any holes. Once thats dont the sealant is drying like glue would, sealing up the hole so no air passes thru it. Some Mcd owners I see run there Mcd truck tires with no air. This is possible but a little air in the tire does make a difference.

By the way if your using the Mcd tires on the Fs truck, you really have to put dual servos in it. The Mcd tires are such a wide contact patch that your Fs truck will drive either to the left or right. Dual servos corrects this problem
