Trying to find out how much a FG 1/6 2wd Baja Buggy weighs???
Guys,
If any of you have a FG 2wd 1/6 Baja Buggy and have weighed it I would like to know what the weight is. Thinking about buying one, but if it weighs the same as the HPI 5B then there is no need.

Carlo, I am almost positive the FG Baja is about 3-4 lbs lighter then the HPI baja.
I would not be able to confirm this to a specific weight until I am at the shop tomorrow.
Also you are aware the FG is a 1/6th scale VS. the HPI baja is 1/5th.

That would be great if you could let me know for sure. Yeah the type of racing that we are doing it does not matter if it is 1/5 or 1/6 scale.

I'll weigh mine tomorrow, it'll be a bathroom scale jobbie though but should be pretty close...It's not entirely stock
few extra bits of alloy but will give you a good idea

using some pretty good scales it comes to 25 1/2lb, that's with jetpro, all alloy rear end, alloy radio tray, 4 wheel hydro and reed block so add about 1 1/2lb for that so about 24lb stock.

Wow, It weighs just as much as the HPI Buggy. Bummer I was hoping it was at least 4 to 5 lbs lighter looking at the size difference.

Oh and it's got 1/2 tank of fuel in it, surprised it's as heavy as an hpi, I guess even if you allowed 3lbs for pipe (1 1/2 lb might be a bit conservative) and all the alloy parts by the time you piped one and got a few alloy essentials you'd be close to 24 again anyway.

Thats with a lot of aluminum though. I have a Duratrax Firehammer/Smartech Traveller which is essentially an FG clone and it doesn't have a lot of aluminum bits, but I think it weighs around 19-20lbs dry, correct me if I'm wrong.

I think you could be right, only bits not alloy is my front end and the pipe weighs 1 1/2 lb after looking it up + 1/2lb fuel so a stock fgbaja could be as low as 20-21lb, hell my 4plate diff probably weighs 1/2+lb by itself...someone must have a stock baja to weigh for CC
