Default What's the best way?

I have two bolts that were overtightened and stripped at the factory, the hole for the allen wrench is round. One is countersunk, the other has a rounded top. Thanks in advance (probably to hellya)

here ya go available at sears too the GRABIT http://www.4grabit.com/Default.asp?g...dl2kYdg&bhcp=1

http://www.asseenontvguys.com/index....FRFMagodoUHI0Q

you can also use a dremel & a cutting bit for the one not counter sunk....cut a regular screwdriver slit across the head....then use a screwdriver to back it out

for the countersunk ones I hammer a good quality torx bit into them and they come right out...never failed yet

For a 2.5mm allen hex, which size Torx type bit do you use? Will a T16 work?

I wish I knew this trick when I stripped a 5mm grub with a 2.5mm allen hex in it. I resorted to drilling it out, that was a 2-day ordeal.

The GrabIt ones are okay I guess, a friend of mine has them and has used them on his RCs to sucessfully extract stripped screws.

I personally like these from Craftsman. They are more expensive, but I dont just use them for RCs, I use them for everything else too.

The easest way is to drill the heads off. Drill just deep enough unill the head breaks. Then you can remove the shank with pliers. To repair the hole find a tap slightly larger than the origional tap and retap it.

Ahhh, no.
Used Hellya's idea. I picked up a set (GRABIT type) from Canadian tire for $19. Had the bolt out in under a minute. Thanks again oh guru Hellya
