Default Large Scale Drag Racing in NY

Large Scale Drag Racing in NY
FLOYD BENNETT FIELD - BROOKLYN, NY
SUNDAY APRIL 5TH, 11AM

Well, just as the title says, we have a great turn out every season, but we expect our biggest turn out this year!
This weekend, Sunday, April 5th, starting at 11am, we expect some 30+ large scale gassers, ready to drag race to their death!
We run everything from On road cars, to off road Buggies & trucks.
Each race is time stamped and also shot with radar to mark your high speed run.
Every Sunday, we all have a great time and you will meet some of the nicest and helpful people at our meeting.

Once you enter Floyd Bennett Field, just follow signs towards the RC Flying field, we will be located just to your left before there field.... you wont miss us!

Here are directions to the park:

Mass Transit: From Manhattan, take the No.2 Train (No.5 train only on weekday rush hours on the East Side) on the West Side downtown to Flatbush & Nostrand Avenue (last stop), from there transfer to the Q35 bus south on Flatbush Avenue. Ask the driver to let you off at Floyd Bennett Field. Check the bus map for the many buses that connect to the Q35 line. Take any trains from Manhattan that stop at Atlantic or Pacific Avenue stations in Brooklyn and transfer to the No.2 or No.5 trains to the Flatbush/Nostrand Station and take the Q35 bus. The Q35 bus stops on Flatbush Avenue across from the entrance at the Ryan Visitor Center and again at the entrance road just before the bridge toll plaza.

By Car: From the Belt Parkway in Brooklyn take exit 11-S which brings you onto Flatbush Avenue South. About 1 mile south the Belt Parkway, keep left and turn left at the traffic light just before the Marine Parkway Bridge toll plaza. From central Brooklyn, you may take Flatbush Avenue south all the way to the Field. From the Rockaways take the Marine Parkway Bridge and make the first right at the traffic light after the toll gate.

I have a ton of video and pictures I will post soon, but here is one of the scary runs, all I seen was a few thousand dollars flying 4 ft in the air at full speed!
In person, it looked alot worse.

We clocked the Evo without NOS at 58, we never had a chance to clock it with NOS because after a few test runs, those gears just gave out, they couldn't take the power increase from the juice.
There is 2 FG Bajas there both owned by the same guy, one runs 64, the other at 68mph.

I have a lot of short videos I will post up soon.
This was our first weekend, we usually have the tree set up which will give reaction time, MPH and determine who crosses the finish line, but this was our first weekend of the season.
Next weekend, I will have some real good stuff to post up!

Enjoy

are all these speeds clocked in the 132 ft length?, or just top end runnin? If those speeds were clocked in the 132', then thats pretty good acceleration for thoses cars.

Miami, to tell you the truth, I am not sure if it is 132ft, but it is somewhere in a similar range when we are set up right.
He's been using those FG Baja's since last season, I don't think he changed anything since then, but I will say, the bottom end pick up, is as impressive as the top end results.
I think the EVO will blow everything at the meeting away easy, just need some stronger gears and a bit more traction.

The Fg Evo in the picture is mine, it is a custom made 1 of 1 (Heli Head Oddified 26cc engine) with a (N2O Wet Kit). The Gears I had on the car that pete is holding in his hands are custom 36/28 High Speed Gears. The motor was dynoed at (6.68 hp) without the N2O and with the N2O it came out at (10.43 hp) with the N2O. It all balls down to to much motor and not enough gear (If You Wanna Go Fast Go Oddified)

Without Nos around what Pete said 58 or more, because it was clocked at such a short distance, but with Nos nobody knows because everytime the nos comes in it chews the gears up. Maimi Jato if you look at the picture of the Evo, it has a computer on top of the Steering Servo which was designed by Oddie himself to read the RPMs of the motor in order to release the N20 into the motor at 10,000 rpms which it is programmed for. And the computer can be programmed by the user him/herself to enject at any RPM he or she wants.
