Default Running shocks upside down

I have rebuilt my rear baja shocks and was looking to know if they would be prone to less leakage if running them the other way round,

it seems to happen that when my baja is not in use for a couple weeks the rear shocks get slightly damp around the bottom of the shock boot,

there not soaking in oil, but there is a tiny amount of moisture which dirt sticks to,

anybody run their shocks upside down?

I never even thought about that. Well, im not sure about less leakage, but it would definitely lower the cg. You might be onto something here.

i'm not sure how this would work, as they(shocks) where designed to work right side up. but you never know, give it a try and let us know

Get some shock covers which will keep the dirt and such off your shock shafts, I have read the KM uses cheaper o-rings so you might want to rebuild them with the HPI kit the seals would probably last longer.

Hanging them upside down is going to increase unsprung weight substantially, making the suspension work much harder. In an ideal world, if the hubs and wheels weighed nothing, they would have no inertia. Better to follow other suggestions to better seal the shocks rather than this...

I have rebuilt the shocks about 5 tanks ago, using the hpi baja 5b rebuild kit which came pre-assembled,

just had to screw the unit onto the km shock body and fill with the included hpi 20wt shock oil.
