i am starting to make a 1/4 scale "lead sled" class car ...sadly no suspension but will be around 80 pounds 5 feet long ang have a 5 hp block that later will be upgraded  will then start add suspension ...it will be used on heavy clay mud and will be pushing and shoving  have a metal body and bumper  and frames and designed like a team demolition derby car .. it will do figure 8 races and team demolition derby      * look up what team demolition derby on you tube and midwestmonsters posted the clip*

If you're ever up in the air about suspension for large scale, please consider using the rear suspension from a mountain bike.

Yeah that works, and has been done by a few people.
Depending on the size of the car you might have to replace the spring with a softer one though.

yes, but the mounts and bracketry are sound. I'm starting my large-scale project in September. (money, you know)... I have a bunch of parts, but those shocks are not here yet
