How long is fuel/oil good for?

Default How long is fuel/oil good for?

Hi i have had a 5 litre petrol can mixed with oil for around 2 months, is it still good to use? whats a max limit you would leave for before replacing?

typically at about the 3 month point it starts to degrade. make sure you shake it up really good, and give a quick smell to make sure its not smelling stale.

What about storing it in a cool location and fuel stabilizers?

i never mix large amounts of fuel /oil i only mix what i use... i have a 500ml mixing bottle and fuel gets mixed and gos strate in the car that way you know the mix is right every time

Thanks for the replies, i know the mix is fine as its exactly 5 litres it`s easier in large quanities i use to mix in 1 litre mix bottles but i have been told those bottles can be way off.

yah i usually do 5-10L at a time, especially now that the weather is good, i wouldn't mix up that much in late fall tho.
