A major RC manufacturer is about to release their 1st 5th scale.
according to a post dated 5/17/10 on their website, RC Car Action magazine editor Matt Higgins states "A major RC company is coming out with its first large scale vehicle very soon".
anyone know who or can take an educated guess? maybe losi or associated?

Maybe traxxas?? they already had a 5th scale once before maybe with the jump in larger scale interest, they'll jump back on the 5th scale bandwagon.
Hopefully it will be a 4WD that doesn't look like a colorful fruitloop rolling down the street?

How can it be Traxxas if they already have had a large scale released before? In that case it will not be the "first large scale vehicle" that the company have made.

I was thinking the CEN also. But everyone knows about it already. I know that they were doing a review on the CEN though. Its a really good 1/5 scale from what Ive heard.

the CEN is an FS with a couple of minor changes...I talked to the guys on the traxxas stand at Nuremberg and they said they were watching the 5th scale market closely and were working on something but as mentioned they had a largescale already...so tamiya, ofna/hoboa, losi, team associated...who knows

Or 1/5th scale of their Nitro Rally cars would be sick as well

I'd like to see a something with a layout like either the revo or preferably a proper 4x4 corr truck layout with a tube chassis, solid rear and independant front with big travel and silky smooth suspension[X(]...the buggy layout is getting old, even though it works well just about every largescale is based on it...either rear motor or mid mount and that's it.
it'd be nice to see something new...nutech are the only ones as yet to try a different chassis layout with the upcoming XT5 but a corr or revo setup would be better suited to track running I think

Yeah, that is right On2_n_On4. So then Kyosho is eliminated from the major brands list... Remember back in '92 or 93' reading the Kyosho catalogue, MAN how i wanted this Lancia. I drooled over it almost everyday.

in a small article in their June issue (RC CarAction), they talk about how HPI almost single handedly ressurected the large scale market with their 5b/t and mention that companies are coming out of the woodwork now with large scale entries. they drop the names Losi and Associated and say IF those guys jump in, they'd certainly be raising the bar.
