RE: 1/4 scale diff
very nice...how's the front design coming along? I'd be interested in a front and rear in the future for sure....

RE: 1/4 scale diff
Thanks mooman.
I have the front designed but i may change it as i build it. That way i can make it as modular and simple as possible but keep it strong. I am waiting to see the interest in the rear and make sure i can justify the time (it took a lot of design and machine time for the first one) even if it is just a hobby : ) |
RE: 1/4 scale diff

RE: 1/4 scale diff
What is the ratio? and can you make as open tube type?
|
RE: 1/4 scale diff
If they're grinder gears it'll be about 3.5:1
Nice work. |
RE: 1/4 scale diff
Having a fight here with myself as to call this a diff or a solid axle? Or am i missing something here?
Anyway, it looks very nice and very nice work:) |
RE: 1/4 scale diff
Mmm suppose it's more of a right angle drive than a diff.

RE: 1/4 scale diff
Thanks for the replys guys.
the ratio is 4.42 to 1 and it a spool rear. so axles are removable and i am thinking of making a adjustable slip posi but the primary design was for rock crawling and monster truck so i made it with a spool. I guess in a street car that has a spool in it for racing i still call it a rear diff but it is called whatever you like. Thanks guys. Steve. |
